Tennis rising star, Sloan Stephens, beat her mentor, Serena Williams last January in the Australian Open and she says Serena has abandoned her.
She says in ESPN magazine, “She’s not said one word to me, not spoken to me, not said hi, not looked my way, not been in the same room with me since I played her in Australia. And that should tell everyone something, how she went from saying all these nice things about me to unfollowing me on Twitter.
“Like, seriously! People should know. They think she’s so friendly and she’s so this and she’s so that — no, that’s not reality! You don’t unfollow someone on Twitter, delete them off of BlackBerry Messenger. I mean, what for? Why?” Source
Uhhhh, who thought Serena was friendly? Not I…not you…not anyone.
Venus and Serena Williams have a new member in the Williams clan. The tennis dynamos’ dad, Richard Williams and his wife, Lakeisha Williams, welcomed a baby boy recently. Richard is 70 and his wife is 33.
Venus and Serena Williams decided to pull out of the TIFF premiere of a documentary about their life. They’ve been clashing with the producers of ‘Venus and Serena’ over the portrayal of their father. They don’t like that the film covers Richard Williams’s out of wedlock children and paints him as a control freak. Source
Unless they told the film’s creators that certain things were off limits then they can’t really get mad. I mean, if it walks like a duck…
After she lost the French Open earlier this year, Serena started working with French coach Patrick Mouratoglou. The pair apparently got very close over the past few months. They were spotted out and about looking extra cozy. He’s also good for her game because since she signed him on as her coach she’s won Wimbledon, Olympic Gold, and the US Open. Source
Let’s hope this continues to work for them. Because if it doesn’t work it could affect her game and thusly her money. That’s a no-no in my book.
Serena Williams went off on a chair ump during the U.S. Open finals this past Sunday and was able to escape suspension. She didn’t escape a fine though. She didn’t even win.
Serena will have to pay $2,000 for the verbal abuse of chair umpire Eva Asdaraki. She got pissed when Eva ceded a vial point to Samantha Stosur for ‘hindrance,’ because Serena screamed, ‘Come on!’ before the ball got to Samantha.
So Serena went the hell off yelling things like:
“Aren’t you the one who screwed me over the last time?” (In reference to her 2009 match against Kim Clijsters, where she spazzed on umpire Louise Engzell)
“Seriously, you have it out for me and I promise you…”
“You’re out of control,” “You’re a hater, and you’re just unattractive inside,” and “Really, don’t even look at me.”
“(You) Give me a code violation ’cause I express who I am, we’re in America last time I checked”

“Really, don’t even look at my I promise you, ’cause I am not the one…” Source
I stay saying ‘I am not the one.’ However, I don’t say it at work…well at least not loud enough for anyone to hear. Serena should follow suit. I would have probably fined her more. She went off for mad long…I’m just sayin.’

Tennis star turned manicurist, Serena Williams, is set to launch a range of nail polish. She’s joining up with OPI to release the Glam Slam! France collections which will have two shades, Spark de Triomphe (glittery silver) and Rally Pretty Pink. The polishes will be out just in time for May’s French Open.
Serena said: “Whether I’m on or off the court, style is important. In addition to watching the runways for the latest trends, I think it’s important to add my own unique elements.

Tennis star, Serena Williams, was rushed into emergency surgery earlier this week when doctors discovered a blood clot. Her spokesperson said that she was treated for “a hematoma suffered as a result of treatment for a more critical situation,” referring to the pulmonary embolism. She continued, “Doctors are continuing to monitor her situation closely to avoid additional complications.”
She added later, “Serena did indeed suffer from a pulmonary embolism last week, and the hematoma was another unexpected scare. Thankfully everything was caught in time. With continued doctor visits to monitor her situation, she is recuperating at home under strict medical supervision.
“Says Serena, ‘Thank you everyone for all of your prayers, concerns, and support. This has been extremely hard, scary, and disappointing. I am doing better, I’m at home now and working with my doctors to keep everything under control. I know I will be ok, but am praying and hoping this will all be behind me soon. While I can’t make any promises now on my return, I hope to be back by early summer. That said, my main goal is to make sure I get there safely.’ ” Source
That’s scary as hell. Thank God the doctors caught it. But what could have caused it to begin with.
Rapper/actor Common and tennis star Serena Williams broke up just a few months ago. But word is that they’re back together. The two were seen out to dinner in Miami recently. A source says, “They’re 100 percent back together. They were all over each other poolside.”
They supposedly broke up because of their schedules and what they want in life. Common, for instance wants to get married and have kids which would require Serena to give up a lot of her life. Source
I wonder what changed (my guess is he couldn’t live without that ass). In any event, the best of luck to the both of them.
Common has confirmed that he and Serena are dunzo. He was interviewing at the “Stay in School” event in his native Chicago when he was asked about his current status.

The word on the street is that Serena Williams and Common are dunzo. He’s been doing a lot of press for his movie ‘Just Wright’ where he’s gushed over her. He even mentioned marriage and more children. But since he didn’t specify having that life with Serena AND he took his mom as his date to the premiere, maybe this rumor is true. Source

Common was on Ellen talking about his new movie “Just Wright” and his relationship with girlfriend Serena Williams.
He said, “Actually, Serena and I have been close for about two years. It’s been evolving.”
When asked if they’d be getting married soon he replied: “I definitely want to get married. I would love to get married and have kids.”
He is also a strong supporter of her career and added, “I sit there, and I’m just tense… and people try and talk to me, and I tell them to be quiet. I was sitting next to Richard Branson and I didn’t pay attention. I don’t care who is there. I’m focused on this tennis match.”
I wasn’t too sure about these two at first. But I really like them together now. I think a wedding and some babies are in order. With those strong abs I’m sure she’d pop them out like a tennis ball shooter thingie.
Tennis star, Serena Williams, says that she wants to be a nail tech. She recently enrolled in a 240-hour class to be certified.
She says, “No one likes getting their nails done more than I do. As a matter of fact I go every four days to get a manicure and every seven days for a pedicure. So, I had a brilliant idea to get certified to be a nail tech.”Source

Tennis star Serena Williams has been named Female Athlete of the Year by The Associated Press. This will be her second time winning the award, she also won in 2002
She said to the A.P., “I’m just happy and blessed to even be playing seven years later. All this is a bonus, really. In 2002, I just was really dominant, and I think in 2009, I just brought that back. I kind of became that player again.
“People realize that I’m a great player, and one moment doesn’t define a person’s career. And I was right, for the most part: It wasn’t right the way I reacted — I never said it was — but I was right about the call.”Source

Tennis star Serena Williams has been issued a fine for her profanity filled tirade at the US Open. She has to pay a wopping $82.5K and is on probation for the next four Grand Slam events. If she acts up again she’ll be foreced to pay as much as $175K and can be barred from the next US Open. Source

While fans are loving the open stance of the tennis ace, the International Tennis Federation is not amused. The ITA is contemplating stripping the world no. 1 of her berth in the 2010 Australian Open. Further, she can be banned and fined $500,000.
Serena said in the issue:
“My thighs… I think they’re too big. And also my arms are too muscular. They’re too thick,” said Serena, adding that women should know that they could be any size, and yet “be beautiful both inside and out.”Source

Serena and Venus are the latest celebs to get in on the sports franchise business. They are the first black women to own part of an NFL team. The sisters have just bought into the Miami Dolphins.
“I am so excited to be part of such a renowned organization,” says Serena. “Having spent so much of my childhood in the area, being involved with a staple of Miami culture is a huge honor. We look forward to many championships and much success together with the Miami Dolphins.”
