Jay Z has signed on with The Weinstein company to work on several projects. The “TIME: The Kalief Browder” docuseries is almost done airing and he’s moving on to the next project set of projects which will chronical Trayvon Martin’s story.
“Suspicion Nation” is a book by Lisa Bloom, a journalist who covered the trial for NBC, where she looks at the mistakes made by prosecutors that caused them to lose the case. Trayvon Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, wrote their book Rest In Power, and pitched it to several different studios. Weinstein and Jay won out.
The indie label and the rap icon won a heated bidding war for the rights to two books — “Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It” and “Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin.” Source and Image
