Florence Henderson, Dead at 82

Actress Florence Henderson, famous for her role as Carol Brady in The Brady Bunch, passed away on Thanksgiving.  She’d been hospitalized the night before.  Her manager said she suffered heart failure and was surrounded by friends and family at her passing. Source and Image

Florence was the ultimate mother figure.  I recently lost a mother figure, ironically from the same ailment, making this news all the more close to home. Condolences to Florence’s family, friends and fans.

Fidel Castro, Dead at 90

Fidel Castro, former controversial leader of Cuba’s communist revolution, passed away this weekend.  He turned over the presidency to his brother Raul, when he fell ill in 2008.  At the time of his death he was battling diverticulitis. Source and Image

It’s an end of an era. I wonder if his death will signal any major political changes in Cuba.

Ron Glass, Dead at 71

Actor Ron Glass, famous for his breakout role on “Barney Miller” passed away at the age of 71. He would go on to make several guest appearances on television for years to come.
