Music Review: A Tribe Called Quest-We Got It From Here…Thank You 4 Your Service

I’ve listened to this album three times today, which is pretty much unheard of for me.  I can’t do a track by track review because it would basically be me typing “Loved it!” 16 times.  So I’ll talk in terms of the album overall.  I think that the collaborations in the form of features and writers was EVERYTHING.  They worked with everyone from Jack White to Kanye, to Anderson Paak to Andre Benjamin. Y’all Elton John was on this album and it gave me life.  They worked with some unlikely people, created something amazing, and still maintained their unique sound and perspective.

If you’ve never listened to ATCQ before, feel free to hop on the bandwagon right now.  Trust, you won’t be disappointed.

Oh, one last note…Phife is immortal. Carry on.

Score: 5 out of 5
