He’s always given me a Jamiroquai/James Blunt/Robin Thicke (his first album) feel.
If you love soul music you’ll love this album. This dude sings his little heart out and you can really feel the vintage D’Angelo-esque sound. I don’t know him from a can of paint. But somehow his music feels really authentic.
My faves have to be “Fuck Outta Here,” mostly because I he manages to make such a generally jarring phrase sound so smooth, and “Hypnotized” for its watered down reggae feel.
I’m going to give It is a solid 4. This album will be added to the rotation for sure.
