2016 Grammys: Miscellaneous Kibble

Rihanna Cancels Grammy Performance

Rihanna was supposed to hit the Grammy Stage last night, but she pulled out just before.

She has apparently been struggling with bronchitis and an on=site doctor recommended that she not perform because she could permanently damage her vocal cords.  So after arriving at the Staple’s Center to practice, she canceled her performance, left and went home.  Source and Image

Uh, didn’t we just see her smoking and drinking AND singing the other day/ She ain’t sick, yo.

Lauryn Hill is a No Show for The Weeknd Performance

Singer Lauryn Hill was supposed to perform with The Weekend at the Grammys, but he had to go on stage alone.

Word is that she was a no-show for her performance.

One source said, “All they said was she was a no-show, but I believe it was some kind of disagreement with the production.”

Another source said that she was late to the venue because of traffic. Source and Image

Late? Really? That’s no excuse AT ALL.

Taylor Takes a Swipe at Kanye

Kanye West rapped in his song “Famous,” “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why, I made that bitch famous / God damn / I made that bitch famous.”

He later claimed that Taylor had given her blessing, but she denied this.

So while accepting her award for Album of the Year she said, “And as the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.

“But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday, when you get where you are going, you will look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment.” Source and Image

Eh, I think she was right for taking aim at him.  But I don’t think it was as much about feminism as it was about her propping herself up.
