I loves me some ANR.  I can’t wait to see her in Power.

Queen Latifah to Join Lee Daniels Show

Lee Daniels is creating a new music themed show for FOX that follows the journeys of “three young women who form a girl group with hopes of making it big in the music industry, and the choices with which they’re faced along the way.”

Queen Latifah has signed on to play the role of Carlotta, an Atlanta beauty salon owner with musical talents of her own who becomes somewhat of a surrogate mother to the trio. Source and Image

Wait, didn’t she already star in Beauty Shop? I’m just sayin’.

T.I. Joins “Roots” Remake

T.I. is the latest actor to be cast in A+E’s upcoming Roots remake.  He’ll be playing Cyrus, a headstrong slave who fights for his freedom for the Union Army against Confederate forces.  He’s joining the already cast, Mekhi Phifer, James Purefoy, Matthew Goode, Lane Garrison, Emayatzy Corinealdi and G. Hannelius.

The remake will play over four nights and 8 hours. Source and Image

I originally wasn’t here for this.  But since it looks like it’ll take a bit of a departure from the original and will bring something new to the story, then I might have to say yes.
