The Dark Knight Rises

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.
But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.30 Beats

Ten characters are drawn into a ring of love and desire, each one caught beyond his or her control in a chain reaction of seduction, impulses and self-discovery.

Hara-kiri: Death of a Samurai

In the 17th century, masterless and poverty-stricken samurai Hanshiro requests to commit hara-kiri (ritual suicide involving self-inflicted disembowelment) in the courtyard of feudal lord Kageyu’s estate. Wanting to dismiss Hanshiro’s wish, Kageyu recounts the tragic story of a young ronin named Motome who years earlier made a similar plea. However, Kageyu is unaware that a deep bond exists between Hanshiro and Motome.

The Queen of Versailles

Jackie and David were triumphantly constructing the biggest house in America – a sprawling, 90,000-square-foot palace inspired by Versailles – when their timeshare empire falters due to the economic crisis. Their rags-to-riches-to-rags story reveals the innate virtues and flaws of the American Dream.

Lo Brewer is a graduate of Rutgers University, where she received a BA for her major in Journalism & Media Studies. She started her career in ad sales and corporate training and worked in media for over a decade at Viacom and Fox Networks. But in 2015, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career that revolved around her two greatest passions, writing and crafting. Soon she was writing for several websites as an entertainment, fashion and music expert. She also launched a small business creating felt crafts and Ankara clothing and home goods through Etsy. Lo is a Jersey Girl (in a Cali world), a self-professed pop culture idiot savant, a homebody, a hardcore crafter, a lover of all things retro & vintage, a thrift shopoholic, and an all-around silly MF. In addition to being a celebriologist and DIY demon, she is also a novelist. Her first, The Semester, was published in 2013. She hopes to publish her second book, The Apartment, in the upcoming year.
