Janet Jackson says she wants to work with Lady Gaga, She told Britain’s Metro, “What I love about Gaga is her story, where she came from. Before she made it, before anyone knew who she was, I knew who she was and, to see her finally make it, I was so happy . . . if we were to work together that would be cool.”
Janet has previously said that she respects Gaga as an artist and a person. She said, “I really love Gaga, yeah, and she’s a sweetheart. It’s not always the case when you meet them. You can enjoy their work, but it’s not always … so pleasant when you get to know their personality, and she truly is a sweetheart.” Source

Miss Jackson If You’re Nasty, apparently lost a bunch of poundage for her new man. Janet has been dating Qatari business man, Wissam Al Mana for a few months and she’s been trying to keep her cougar body slim and trim for her new man.
A source says, “Wissam and Janet have been dating since late last year. He is extremely good to her, buying her jewelry, expensive designer clothes, taking her to exotic places, and filling their room with candles and white roses wherever they go. And spending time with a younger man who is handsome and fit has Janet paying closer attention to her diet. As a result, she’s lost 20 pounds in the last six months!”
The source added that the 44-year-old Janet is ready for kids. “The fact that Janet is in super shape and has been working out daily, etc, means her body is pregnancy-ready.” She’s also been spending more time with Michael’s kids. “Janet adores them, and now she’s had the opportunity to see what it would be like to have kids of her own. She’s finally ready, and a younger man like Wissam would make the perfect father. All she needs now is a proposal.” Source
Well hot damn. A man will either make you want to work it out to look just as fit as him, or be so comfortable that you eat like a fat ass queen. I need to be the former instead of the later…commencing the crunches in 5, 4, 3, 2,…

We told you about Janet scoring the Blackglama fur endorsement not too long ago. Well PETA supporter, Pamela Anderson is none to happy about it and has lashed out at Janet. She said, “It’s disappointing. She has spoken out against fur before. I don’t know why some people stop listening to their heart. I guess some people get greedy, but it’s sad.”
In response, Blackglama’s CEO, Joe Morelli, released this statement: “For decades, Blackglama has represented the finest, most exclusive mink in the world. Much like Blackglama, Janet Jackson has occupied a similar position in her respective industry. Janet is an icon in the world of music and entertainment, a true legend. She represents everything this storied campaign embodies. Janet is to entertainment what Blackglama is to luxury.” Source
And he ended it with “I’m rich bitch!” OK, so he didn’t say that. But he should’ve.

Janet is all for dating younger men.
When talking about the criticism she receives for having younger boyfriends she said, “It’s horrible. It’s really awful.
“And I have to believe it was a man that started that. Mother always raised us to believe that age was just a number. All of us – my sisters, my brothers – we’ll just tell you our ages because it’s all about where you are mentally and how you feel about yourself.”
She added in an interview with Essence magazine: “There comes a time when you don’t give an ‘F’ what people say or think. You just do your thing because it’s finally about you and not in a selfish way but in a great way.” Source
Janet has never been afraid to let her freak flag fly. And as a card carrying puma I’m totally with her.

Janet was on Oprah to promote her new movie and ended up talking about Michael. She revealed that he had a drug problem.
“People think we (the family) were in denial but we weren’t. We tried intervention several times. He was very much in denial — he didn’t think he had a problem.”
She said the last time she saw him was about a month before his death at a party they threw for their parents. “He was thin then, and we knew that he had a problem; we all did,” she said.
She added that his death is “hard to believe still to this day. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about it — that all of us in the family don’t think about it — every single day.”
Janet said they tried several interventions. At one of them, she said became so overwhelmed, “seeing him and knowing that there was an issue that he was in denial about,” she had to leave the room. “A lot of the relationships I’ve been in, they’ve had issues with addiction. It’s difficult when you see it. [I] recognize it so quickly because I’ve dealt with it in past relationships.” Source
Oh Janet…don’t you just wanna hug her?

Janet Jackson sat down with MTV News to promote her new movie, “Why Did I Get Married Too?,” and somehow ended up talking about Lady GaGa. She said that she’s worried about her.
“I really love GaGa and she’s a sweetheart. It’s not always the case when you meet them (superstars). You can enjoy their work, but it’s not always so pleasant when you get to know their personality, and she truly is a sweetheart. “She’s definitely doing something different and I love that.
“She works so hard and I told her I think she needs to slow down just a little bit, take some time out for herself.”
This comes on the heels of GaGa nearly passing out during a performance and continuing to sing while seated on the floor of the stage. Source
Yea GaGa, don’t stop per se. But at least take a minute or two to take a nap or drink some water for Pete’s sake.

In the scene she has to smash up furniture with a golf club.
She says, “You have to dig deep but there was some stuff that was right there for me. Stuff that had just happened, with my brother passing, and also relationships, experiencing exactly that.” Source
She not only lost her brother but lost a boyfriend shortly after. Good for her for finding a productive way to channel that emotion.

Janet reveals in her upcoming interview with Robin Roberts that she and the family tired to stage numerous interventions with Michael.
She says, “Those are the things that you do when you love someone. You can’t just let them continue on that way.” She said that he “understood that it was out of love… but when it’s something like that people can tend to be in denial.”
When asked if her dad was ‘abusive’ or old school she replied, “You have to keep in mind that I’m the baby…I think it’s old school. And that may extrapolate into–a–being a little abusive. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
She also talked about her unconventional childhood.
“I remember when I had called him daddy, and he said, ‘No you call me Joseph, I’m Joseph to you.’ Never said it again.”
On not celebrating birthdays and holidays…“I would love to have experienced what it would be like to celebrate Christmas and birthdays. …I had my first birthday party when I was 23 years old. …You kind of feel like you missed something. But then again you have to say to yourself… well, how can you miss what you didn’t have?” Source
As far as the interventions go, they only work if the person in question wants the help. Michael obviously wasn’t ready to change. As far as her childhood goes, no, her childhood wasn’t the norm. But she seems to have handled it gracefully. I was raised in a JW home and didn’t have birthdays or most holidays (not all holidays are considered ‘bad’). But I will say that no one should look at JW children and feel pity. It’s like asking a Jewish or Muslim child if they are sad they don’t have Christmas. Any restraints on a child are going to feel too restrictive. I’m proud of Janet for not portraying the religion like a cult as many people do, especially when they no longer practice.

She said: “I’m not the type of girl that stays in touch with your ex like that. But Jermaine is one of my best friends. I love him to death. We’re still connected. We’re still good friends. We still talk.”
When the first rumors of a breakup went down a mutual friend of the pair said: “You shouldn’t mix business with pleasure. Janet felt their lives were too crossed and they should have kept things separate.”
Another source said: “They’ve been moving in different directions for a while now.” Source
As asthetically mismatched as they were, I liked them together. Much luck to both of them in finding themselves and someone new.

Producer Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins recently sat down with MTV to talk aobut Janet Jackson’s upcoming album. Here’s what he had to say:
Janet is like my sister now. We definitely have this incredible chemistry, this bond — I think we musically connect, crazily. I knew it — it’s funny ’cause I predicted this. Five years ago, people used to ask me who I wanted to work with, and I was like, ‘Janet Jackson.’ And I was so passionate about that because I’ve always been a fan of her music and what her and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have done in the past. And I felt like, knowing she wants to try new things, that I feel I can get it and I can deliver it for her.
“Since we’ve been working … I feel like the studio has become a second home for her because with the whole situation with Michael [Jackson] happening, and I feel like right now, emotionally, she can come here and let all her feelings out. I got her writing again — she has the pen and the pad in her hand.”
Apparently her fans are going to see a new side of her thanks to Darkchild.
“You gotta understand, she lost her brother. She was in a relationship for seven years that’s over now. There’s things that she told me that I didn’t even realize. You know, certain [things] like self-esteem that I didn’t even realize that she dealt with for years that you know. … She’s working on her book and she’ll deal with that in her book, but also in songs, certain songs we’re dealing with that head on. And sometimes it can be a touchy subject for us to even go into, and I kinda had to persuade her, ‘Let’s just go, let’s talk about that.’ And she’s been doing it, and she’s a pro about it.”
The album also won’t have a futristic feal like her last album had.
“It’s funny, ’cause when we just started the project, she was like, ‘I wanna do 10 dance records, all up-tempo to dance. Let’s just go dance,’ ” Jerkins said. The sound is inspired by worldwide influences, from African rhythms to Brazilian and Latin music, and RJ said we can expect features on this album like a Pitbull track that was recorded last week.
“But she hits me today and she says we need to do some mid-tempos as well,” Rodney continued. “And I’m glad for that because there’s a time when you listen to a record that you wanna mellow out and she always gives us those great smoothed-out mellow records. So now that she’s in that zone, it’s like ‘Yes!’ ’cause we can focus on that. But I’m still gonna keep the beats hard underneath ’cause she’s still a dancer at heart.” Source
I’ve always liked Janet so I’m eager to see what she’s come out with this time. But I’m not particularly hopeful since she hasn’t been able to recapture the formula she used back when I loved her so.
(Lo excuses herself to break out her ‘If’ cassette single and practice the dance from the video to see if she’s still got it.)

Janet Jackson is on the cover of Harper’s Bazzar, in which she discusses the last time she was with her brother Michael.
“We had so much fun that day. We kept calling each other after and saying how great it was.”
On finding strength in rough times:
“I always wanted to have my mother’s [Katherine Jackson] strength, but I didn’t know if it was really there. But a few years back, something happened and I learned that I did. I’m not going to mention it, but we all know what it is. And now, coming off all this, it’s even beyond that. I was just focused on my job at that moment within my family. Now at least I know that I can step up to the plate and not crumble when I’m needed. When it comes to something like this that is so, so serious, so painful, so traumatic, I can handle it.”
On Michaels famous white glove:
“That was actually my brother Jackie’s idea at home one day,” Janet explains. “He just said, ‘You should wear one glove. A white glove.’ And then Mike studded it all. That was it.”
On marrying again:
“For [some] people, sure! I don’t know if I’ll get married again. [She's been married twice, as a teen to James DeBarge and to choreographer René Elizondo.] I’ll put it like this: If God wants me to, then I will.” Dating? “Yeah, I’ve had people ask me out. I haven’t entertained any offers thus far, but I’m locking myself in my work right now.” Some might say boys smell anyway. “Yeah, they stink,” she chuckles, “and they’re dirty.”

She seems to be taking all these hardships in stride. Hopefully she can continue to be brave because if it were me I’d be a mess!

Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri called it quits shortly after her brother’s death in June. Now he’s already moved on to someone else.
He was spotted out last moth with Deal or No Deal model, Claudia Jordan at the airport.
“They looked like a couple,” a fellow passenger on their flight to LA tells In Touch. “During the flight, they were flirty and he seemed very into her. He was making her laugh and smile. There was never a moment when they didn’t talk.”
Janet’s plans to have a baby with him seem to be dashed to the ground now that he’s got a new boo. She even froze her eggs just in case. She’s previously said, “I’d love to have children. It’s just up to Jermaine, what he wants to do.”
According to the insider, even after dating for seven years, Jermaine still wasn’t ready to commit to Janet and wanted to keep playing the field: “He isn’t ready for a family or to settle down.” Source
Man, Janet’s really had a rough time these past few months. Maybe she should just get them eggs fertilized and have that baby on her own. She’s not getting any younger so it’s now or never.
