Rumors that there may be a rift between Will and Jada are swirling yet again.  The couple abruptly cancelled their annual Christmas party.

Sources say that they got into a huge fight while in Miami for Art Basel and Will’s son Trey’s first DJ’ing gig. They immediately contacted guests and told them the party wasn’t happening. Source

I really doubt these two will ever split up.  Not becaue they’re invincible, because they don’t want to have eg on their fac.  They are always talking about how great their marriage is and doling out advice on how to keep things hot in your relationship.  They’ll probably be each other’s beards until the end of time.

Jada and Will’s New School Approach to Parenting

Written on November 1, 2012 by

Jada Pinkett-Smith says that she takes a different approach to parenting.

She said, ”I think that old school style of ‘I’m your parent and I’m greater than you’ doesn’t work. What I establish with my children is a partnership. I’m not necessarily dictating what is happening in their lives.’

”We … communicate with our kids in a way that our message overpowers any other message that they get out there.

”We can’t control what our kids learn anymore. We have to inform them and have real conversations … and [create] that foundation of them feeling assured in themselves.

”I think for our children … they feel like we really care and they come to us and go, ‘Mommy, I’m having this problem.’ And it’s like, ‘Okay, let’s figure this out together.’ And it empowers them.” Source

I think there’s a lot of good in what she’s saying.  I also think that sometimes you have to set definite boundaries for your children and provide a structure.  Rules are OK ya know.

Jada Doesn’t Eat for the Sheer Joy of It

Written on June 7, 2012 by

Filed Under: Bust a Crunch, Jada Pinkett-Smith

Jada Pinkett says in a recent Essence interview that food isn’t about how tasty it is.

She said, “I don’t eat for pleasure.”

She said that she “had the only West Indian grandmother that could not cook. She was an awful cook, and she taught me that you don’t eat for taste, you eat for nourishment. And I have kept that over the years, so I can eat anything that’s healthy.

“I eat for my schedule so I have to eat high-protein, lots of greens and healthy carbs so that I don’t fall flat on my face.” Source

I’m not about that life. Sowwy!

Jada Shuts Down Divorce Rumors

Written on April 13, 2012 by

Filed Under: Jada Pinkett-Smith, Splitzville, Will Smith

Jada Pinkett-Smith is addressing the divorce rumors once and for all.

She said,  “Every year, a celebrity couple is on the radar. This year, unluckily, it’s us! I almost want to say that we should have been expecting it. But Will and I know the truth. We are waiting peacefully for when the storm ends.

“These rumors are completely untrue. I’m travelling a lot because of my work, as Will does. And the fact that I’m accompanying our daughter, Willow, on her trips, while Will spends time with our son, Jaden, doesn’t make things easier.”

“But our way of living hasn’t changed. Before the children, we were already away from each other quite often because of our work. In general, Will and I take two months of holiday, at the end of the year. Right after Thanksgiving, we shut down the curtain and nothing comes to bother our family life until January.” Source

So there you have it.  Until the ink is dry on their divorce papers we’re gonna have to put this to rest.

Filed Under: Jada Pinkett-Smith, New TV Show, Singers, Will Smith

Even though Jada’s show, ‘HawthoRNe,’ has been cancelled.  Will and Jada are still getting work on the small screen.

The couple’s production company, Overbrook Entertainment, sold the rights of a new comedy to ABC.  The series will feature singer Anthony ‘Romeo’ Santos as a charismatic Dominican-American from Washington Heights, who tries to please his very traditional, immigrant father while also creating a life that reflects his new vision of the American Dream .Source

I don’t know anything about this Romeo dude besides his new single with Usher.  But I’m kinda intrigued.  Will you watch?

‘HawthoRNe’ Gets the Axe

Written on September 4, 2011 by

Filed Under: Jada Pinkett-Smith, You're Fired!

Jada Pinkett is having a rough few weeks.  First rumors swirl that she split with hier husband and that she’s cheating with co-star Marc Anthony.  But we’ve just learned that her TNT show, ‘HawthoRNe.’ Has been cancelled.

Here’s the official story from TNT:

“TNT has decided not to order a fourth season of Hawthorne. TNT truly appreciates the tremendous dedication of everyone involved in Hawthorne. The series gave TNT the opportunity to work with many outstanding people, including Jada Pinkett Smith and the rest of the show’s talented cast, crew, producers and writers. We wish everyone involved with Hawthorne nothing but the best.” Source

I was under the impression that the show was doing fairly well.  So I’m gonna assume that TNT decided they want nothing to do with this mess.

Jada Says Her Kids are Ready for Fame

Written on March 31, 2011 by

Filed Under: Family Matters, Jada Pinkett-Smith

Jada Pinkett-Smith says that she doesn’t think her children are too young for the exposure and fame they’ve received.

She said, “I see my children as little people, not necessarily people to control. You’ve got to help them develop and become individuals. You have to find out who they are but enforce boundaries to keep them safe. [Willow]’s simply being creative. I’m not worried about her growing up too soon.[...]I’m very clear about what my priority is and that’s my family. I used to struggle juggling work and family at the beginning. It’s hard when you change from being single to being married to being a mother. But now I’m turning 40, I’ve found a peaceful compromise. I feel very content.” Source
That’s fantastic…now if only we could get Willow’s readin’ ritin’ and rithmatic up to par, we’d be in business.

Willow Talks Inspiration

Written on November 20, 2010 by

Filed Under: Interviews, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Will Smith

Willow Smith owes her talent to her parents according to her.  In a recent interview she talked about her musical influences.

She said, “I like the way Billy Idol sings,” she says about her musical influences. “Mommy turned me on to him. And I like Lady Gaga’s songs.”

Her upbringing:

“I can’t do whatever I want,” she explains. “Mommy has to say it’s okay.”

And her career:

“Focusing on music right now.”

She credits mom and dad for her natural talent.

She says, “Mommy and Daddy inspired me to be a performer.  I get my flow from Daddy, my singing ability from Mommy, and the camera stuff from both. That’s just what happens when you hang out with the Smiths!” Source

Well that’s just plain sweet.  I think it’s hilarious that she likes Billy Idol.  She probably shouldn’t be listening to ANY of his music.

Jada Fires Consultants Because of her Mom

Written on August 14, 2010 by

Filed Under: Jada Pinkett-Smith, You're Fired!

In ‘HawthoRNe ‘Jada also produces, she plays Chief Nursing Officer, Christina Hawthrone. When her mom, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, who’s a nurse, told her that the show is horribly inaccurate, Jada fired all the technical consultants.

Jada says, “She (her mom) did quite a bit (of criticizing) last year (09), which is why I got a new technical team this year… Last year she was really on top of it and I’m very thankful because there were a lot of things she was making me aware of that I don’t think I would’ve been if she hadn’t been (there).

“Things like how we put the cap back on the needle, or how we inject the needle, or how we resuscitate. (It’s) very specific and we got a lot of nurses last year emailing and saying, ‘We like the show but you’re not really doing this and this.’ At the end of the season I had a six-page email (from her mum). But this year she helped make a much better show, so kudos to her.” Source

I’m glad. Because I’d watch the show with my mom, who’s been a nurse for over thirty years and she’d be like, “That, that just happened right there…yea, that would never happen.”

Will and Jada Don’t Donate to Scientology

Written on July 21, 2010 by

Filed Under: Charity, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Scientology, Will Smith

Will and Jada in past years have donated thousands of dollars to Scientology groups. But they didn’t donate a dime this year. Even though they’ve been linked to Scientology because of their donations, association with celeb Scientologists and have made several statements in support of the group it looks like they may be backing off a bit.

Where did their money go instead? Well they’ve donated to Christian ministries and to the Harvard Foundation as well as several other schools. Source
Maybe they’re trying to distance themselves since their association with TomKat hasn’t necessarily been good for them.

Jada Talks about Relationships

Written on June 24, 2010 by

Filed Under: Couples Alert, Interviews, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Will Smith

During an interview with the WJLB Morning show, Jada Pinkett-Smith, who was promoting her new season of ‘HawthoRNe’ opened up about her relationship with Tupac as well as open marriages.

On her relationship with Tupac Shakur:

“Pac and I were never in a romance but I feel as though we had those feelings. It was more of a “platonic romance” between each other. We knew us being together in a romantic way would destroy everything because we were both fire. We would burn everything up! So we knew in order to preserve our relationship there was no way we could ever add romance to it cause we probably would’ve killed each other!”

On her rumored open marriage to Will Smith:

We always have people that we’re attracted to that we talk about. That don’t stop just because your married. Somebody’s always gonna catch your eye. That’s real. Somebody’s gonna always be prettier than me, and somebody’s always gonna be more in awe of him than me, and he gonna be like *in Will’s voice* ‘yo she really like me’ (laughter) but as far as somebody being right for us… is there somebody right for a nice night? Maybe. But somebody that can sustain our life and sustain what we’ve built together, absolutely not!

You can hear the entire interview here

Hmm, I’d bet ten bucks that she not only let Pac smash, but that she and Will are extra free with their love. I’m just sayin’.

Willow Smith is Droppin’ an Album?

Written on June 10, 2010 by

Filed Under: Jada Pinkett-Smith, New Music, Will Smith

Jada Pinkett-Smith, who has a rock band in addition to being an actress, is helping her daughter follow in her footsteps.

Jada told AmbassadorMag.com, “I have always had a love for music, always, always, and always. I probably started to pursue it a little late in life. But it was always a passion of mine. I had always been too afraid to venture into music, but I decided when I was about 30 to just go for it. I started a metal band called Wicked Wisdom. I toured and I loved it.

“But soon after, my kids’ careers started taking off, so I sacrificed it. I am pleased to say my daughter, Willow, will be putting out an album soon and I look forward to enjoying music through her creations. So I am excited about that, and she’s pretty awesome. She will be better at it then I ever could be anyway!” Source

Oh lord, I guess we’ll be seeing more of Willow’s clown clothes when she goes on tour. Sighs.

Will and Jada Trying to Wiggle Out of Law Suit

Will and Jada Smith are trying to get out of hot water with a former business partner.  He financed a movie called Human Contact, which Jada wrote and starred in. He’s threatening to sue them for he claims was a “guaranteed” return for his investment.  They say they’re not to blame for the failure of the film.

They say they never promised any pay back to investors and want a judge to declare they’re not liable for the investor’s lost cash. Source

I’ve never even heard of this movie, probably cus it went straight to DVD.I’m not saying they promised him anything.  But what reason would a complete stranger have to put money on one of your projects if they weren’t getting anything in return?  They probably hypnotized him with some thetan chants to get the dough out of him in the first place.

Jada’s Kids Don’t “Talk Crooked”

Written on September 2, 2009 by

jada

Jada Pinkett says that she doesn’t want her kids to be rude.

She explained to Good Housekeeping magazine: “My kids are extremely respectful. You might not have to go to bed at a certain time, but do not talk crooked to anybody! Always treat people the way you want to be treated.”

She also talks about how she balances work and her family.

“I figure out how I can give them what they need, and in turn be given the time to do what I want.

“I sat my kids down and said, ‘There’s a project (referring to her show HawthoRNe) that mommy wants to do. It’s going to be three months, and there might be days that I’m not going to be here when you wake up or when you go to bed. But then I might have two days off, and you can have mommy all to yourself.’

“Their response was, ‘Oh, yeah, that’s cool!’ Willow said, ‘When you come home late, will you just come in my bedroom and give me a kiss?’” Source

Who doesn’t want their kids to be respectful?  I wonder what her discipline methods are. I bet she and Will hook their nips up to thatan tazers and shock them right to Xenu when they’re bad.
