Chris Tucker has slowly been making his way back into the spotlight. His latest endeavor will be hosting the upcoming BET Awards.
He said in a statement, “I am honored to be asked to host this year’s BET Awards. I’m looking forward to be being part of a really great show.”

Quvanzhane Wallis didn’t win the Oscar for Best Actress last night. But people were still talking about her. Model Chrissy Teigan called Quvanzhane “cocky” on Twitter. Source
And the Onion called her…well they tweeted: “Everyone else seems afraid to say it, but that Quvenzhane Wallis is kind of a c**t, right? Source
Listen, everyone can’t be as gracious and non-assholey like Dakota Fanning. That’s still no reason to call a little girl, of all people, a C-U-Next Tuesday! Jeez, kids are supposed to be off limits.
Quvenzhane Wallis has landed the roll of Annie in the remake of the same name.
“Quvenzhané Wallis is a true star and we believe her portrayal as Annie will make her a true worldwide star,” Hannah Minghella, president of Production for Columbia Pictures, said in a statement. ”She is an extraordinary young talent with an amazing range, not only as an actress but as a singer and dancer, and we can’t wait for audiences to further discover her.”
Willow Smith was originally cast in the role but pulled out. Source
Congrats. Although even when Willow was doing it, I wasn’t happy about this project. Why can’t we just leave some things alone?

In one of the most awkward Grammy wins ever, Frank Ocean beat out Miguel and Chris Brown for Best Urban Contemporary Album. What made it awkward, besides Frank’s weird speech, was that he was up against Chris, whom he’d gotten into a fist fight with a week ago. Chris didn’t help things with his reaction. Although he clapped when Frank won, he refused to join in the standing ovation that the rest of the audience gave. Source
It’s shady…but it’s real. I’m actually not mad at all about this.
Taylor Swift is opening the show with “We’re Never Ever Getting Back Together.” She’s got an “Alice in Wonderland” them. It’s cute or whatever. PS-I hate her. Like if she fell or accidentally caught fire I might not be upset. I’m just saying.
LL’s geriatric/still sexy dimples are out to begin hosting for the second year in a row. He’s starting off by introducing himself to us since he didn’t get a chance to do so because Whitney Houston had to up and die the day before. How dare she?! Anyway, continue Todd.
I’m sorry but she looks like a stuffed sausage. Also, I wish I knew these songs because I can’t make out anything she’s singing. Finally, I wonder what it’s like having to sing with Chris Brown in the front row after she went in on him, not once, but twice on Twitter and at one of her shows.
LL Pays quick tribute to Dick Clark then Introduces
I love me some Miguel and I’d happily tap his lil Prince lookin’ and actin a$$. He walks up to Rih to rock with her for a minute. He prolly wouldn’t have done it had her rachett tail not been standing up waiting for him to come by. But if it were me I’d be jumping at the chance to get close to him too. I’m not gonna lie. His jacket and Wiz’s whole suit are making dizzy. But I don’t even care.
They then present..
Best Country Solo Performance
Home – Dierks Bentley
Springsteen – Eric Church
Cost Of Livin’ – Ronnie Dunn
Wanted – Hunter Hayes
Over – Blake Shelton
Blown Away – Carrie Underwood
Faith Hill and Tim McGraware Presenting…

The A Team – Ed Sheeran, songwriter (Ed Sheeran)
Adorn – Miguel Pimentel, songwriter (Miguel)

Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) – Jörgen Elofsson, David Gamson, Greg Kurstin & Ali Tamposi, songwriters (Kelly Clarkson)
We Are Young – Jack Antonoff, Jeff Bhasker, Andrew Dost & Nate Ruess, songwriters (Fun. featuring Janelle Monáe)
This song is pretty epic so I’m excited. Also, I would have been happy as long as anyone but CRJ didn’t win. They’re playing the music on them and they don’t give a fawk.
Johnny Depp, looking like a dirty ass French pirate is Introducing…
Mumford & Sons-I Will Wait
They all look sooooo dirty but I love them. They rock the fawk OUT. I haven’t seen anyone sing that hard or strum a banjo like that in my life. And Benn on that keyboard is insane. It looks like it hurts.
Ellen Degeneres who is trying her best to get Bey to crack and BeyonceIntroduce…
Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z-Suit & Tie & Little Pusher Lover Girl
He’s giving big band realness. In addition to dancing and singing live, he looks kinda amazing. This is exciting. I like singer JT way more than douchy i think I’m an Oscar caliber actor JT. Jay comes out of the audience to do his verse. I just realized they both have on cummerbunds. It looks better on JT than Jay. But whatever.
Quick note: The second song is sounding VERY Robin Thicke-esque. Hey, I calls em like I sees em.
Kelly Rowland and Nas Present…
Best Urban Contemporary Album
Fortune – Chris Brown
Kaleidoscope Dream – Miguel
Channel Orange – Frank Ocean
AWKWARD.COM! OK, this is awkward for several reasons. One, because of Frank and Chris’s fight, Frank has his hand bandaged. Second, Chris gave a very long pause and gulp before applauding. Third, Frank’s speech was weird. And fourth, Miguel did the obligatory smile and claps when he thought the camera was on him. But I saw him a few seconds later throw some shade with a head cock and slight eye roll. You salty bitch, I love you.
Dave Grohl & Pauley Perrette Present…
Best Rock Performance
Hold On – Alabama Shakes
Lonely Boy – The Black Keys
Charlie Brown – Coldplay
I Will Wait – Mumford & Sons
We Take Care Of Our Own – Bruce Springsteen
LL is back to Introduce…
Maroon 5 & Alicia Keys-Daylight & Girl on Fire
I hate her song with all my being. My husband yelled from the bedroom, “WHO KEEPS ASKING HER TO SING THAT SONG?! I’VE NEVER HEARD ANYONE SAY THEY LIKE IT! THEY KEEP FORCING IT ON US! I HATE IT!” Yea babe, I agree.
Kaley Cuoco & Keith Urban Present…
Best Pop Vocal Album
Stronger – Kelly Clarkson
Ceremonials – Florence & the Machine
Some Nights – Fun.
Overexposed – Maroon 5
The Truth About Love – Pink
This song really makes me get up and go. I love her fifties inspired dress. I love that she’s kinda all over the place and probably a little drunk. I don’t love that she looks shiny and swollen. But it’s all good.
It’s always interesting to see Rihanna sing…I mean really sing, not dance around while she yodels. She sounds decent. Mikky sounds great. I must admit I thought she was gonna trick us and when the spotlight came up on Mikky Chris’ ass was gonna be sitting there. Are people crying? Oh cus that’s her song to Chris or whatever? Sigh.
Carly Rae Jepsen & Ne-Yo Present…
Best Rap/Sung Collaboration
Wild Ones – Flo Rida Featuring Sia
No Church In The Wild – Jay-z & Kanye West featuring Frank Ocean & The-dream
Tonight (Best You Ever Had) – John Legend Featuring Ludacris

Kat DenningsIntroduces…
The Black Keys-Lonely Boys
Kelly Clarkson plays tribute to Patti Page with “Tennessee Waltz” and Carole King with “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.” She tears it up of course. She then Presents…
Best Country Album
Uncaged – Zac Brown Band
Hunter Hayes – Hunter Hayes
Living For A Song: A Tribute To Hank Cochran – Jamey Johnson
Why is Bruno singing one of his songs for a tribute to Bob? I’m confused. Now Sting is singing “Walking on the Moon”…which is one of his songs. What the hell is happening here? Oh cus you put a reggae twist on the arrangement? Sigh.
OK, here’s Rihanna and Rohan to actually sing one of Bob’s songs, “Could You Be Loved”. And here’s Damian to top off the whole performance. I wonder how many blunts were passed before this performance. Backstage smells like Selassie Green right about now.
LL Introduces…
The Lumineers-Ho Hey
Please stop cutting to Taylor Swift…I thought we discussed my hatred for her. They then Introduce…
Jack White-Love Interpretation & Freedom at 21
Katy Perry, who is looking bodacious BTW, Presents…

Hunter Hayes
The Lumineers
Frank Ocean
Hunter Hayes-Wanted
He kinda annoys me…but all those jits do. He then introduces…
Carrie Underwood-Blown Away & Two Black Cadillacs
Wait, why is her dress lighting up? This is a little too Disney on Ice for my liking.
Prince, serving mystic fairy of sex and all things creepy yet alluring, Presenting…
Record Of The Year
Lonely Boy – The Black Keys
Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) – Kelly Clarkson
We Are Young – Fun. featuring Janelle Monáe
Somebody That I Used to Know – Gotye Featuring Kimbra
Thinkin Bout You – Frank Ocean
We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together – Taylor Swift
It’s nice to see Kimbra genuinely touched by their award. That’s opposed to some of these entitled ass tools who run up there and snatch the award.
Now’s time to get a little business out of the way. JT comes on stage to talk about a new award that will be presented extraordinary music teachers every year during Grammy Week.
Then we have our musical angel tribute to all those in the music industry we’ve lost in the past year.
Zac Brown, Elton John, T Bone Burnete, Mavis Staples, Mumford & Sons, & Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes) perform “Take a Load Off Annie” to commemorate the lost artists and the Sandy Hook Elementary Victims.
Juanes-Your Song
Wrong boo-boo, YOU should ONLY sing in Spanish. He then Introduces…
I like Frank Ocean…just like, not love. I think half the time he’s pitchy and whiny. This was a bad choice to do for the Grammys. And the arrangement is craptastic. Once his hand got effed up fighting with Breezy, they shoulda come up with something else.
WHY ISN’T IT OVER?!
IS HE WHISTLING? SOMEONE PUT ME AND HIM TO BED NOW!
Adele Presenting…
Album Of The Year
El Camino – The Black Keys
Some Nights – Fun.
Babel – Mumford & Sons
Channel Orange – Frank Ocean
Blunderbuss – Jack White
LL, Chuck D, Tom Morello Travis Barker closes the show with a medley of…oh hell, I’ve alrady checked out. Thanks for hangin wit me peeps. I’ll update with video en la manana. And I’ll just leave you with this…
(All images and video were taken from Grammy.com or CBS.com unless otherwise stated.)
I hope everyone turns it out and brings the sexy and maybe a little bit of crazy to the red carpet this year. Especially with this year’s new ‘guidelines’ I’m thinking people might go nuts in protest.
Carly Rae Jepsen’s dress is really hot. However, she could have used more makeup…or maybe makeup at all. And she should have gone for a zoom whitening treatment.
Kathy Griffin seems genuinely upset that she didn’t win the Best Comedy Album for the fifth year in the row. I’m knida thinking she might cry. It’s weird seeing her like that. There’s also an awkward moment where Kathy asks Ryan Seacrest to help her adjust her boobs. So he stands in front of her to pretend like he’s helping her. Moral of this story: Ryan Seacrest will do anything to not have to touch a woman’s breasts.
I know Janelle Monae’s thing is the tux. I get it. It’s her shtick. But it’s so GD stupid and I hate it. I need her to try something different…because I say so. Did this bish say she’s wearing ‘ideas’ get out of my face right NOW.
I hate listening to Kat Von D speak. She’s such a dead fish.
OH Breezy, you should never speak..EVER. I’m glad that he’s wearing white though…he could stand to gain a few pounds so at least the white makes him look not so crackheadish.
Kimbra & Gotye
Lupe Fiasco-I pretty much hate everything about him now.
Carrie Underwood looks beautiful. But her hair is a little matronly. Also I never realized how annoying her speaking voice is.
Who is this red headed chick with Ne-Yo. He has his baby mama Monyetta as his date. But he brought the red head to the red carpet with him. I’m confused and I really don’t like it.
Justin Timberlake
Is Nas drunk?
Redfoo…this a$$hole.
John Legend’s hairline is not only uneven but it’s beginning to run for the hills. I find this depressing.
Ashanti
Taylor Swift annoys the sh!t out of me. She just said she was ‘stoked’ about winning a Grammy. How about you sit all the way down.
Tamia
Jennifer Lopez is pushing the limit with that leg. But hunty looks amazing. Also, I’m glad that she left Casper’s dumb ass on the sideline to avoid the risk of him actually talking. Thanks boo.
Florence Welch in this Givanchy dress is…interesting. Not sure how I feel about it yet.
Kelly Osbourne & Estelle
Jay Manuel
Pharrell is the worst interview EVER.
LL Cool J
The chick with Flo Rida looks racheeeeeeet.
Adele
Kelly Rowland’s dress is painted and and she looks uh-MAZE.
Rihanna
Drake
Alicia Keys
I must say I’m a smidge underwhelmed by what Beyonce is wearing.
Amber Roseis HUGE! The end.
(All images and video were taken from Grammy.com or CBS.com unless otherwise stated.)
He spoke to Billboard magazine and had a lot to say about music ownership and how he blames Madonna for how things went bad with Warner Brothers Records.
He says, “It was always about Madonna. She was getting paid, but at the same time we were selling more records and selling out concerts on multiple nights.”
During the interview he also went in on Maroon 5, who covered “Kiss” on the 2012 album Overexposed.
He said, “Why do we need to hear another cover of a song someone else did?
He adds, “Art is about building a new foundation, not just laying something on top of what’s already there.” Source

RadarOnline.com is reporting that Chris wants to perform with Rihanna at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
A source said, “Chris wants to perform with Rihanna at the Grammys to show the whole world they are back together. Chris doesn’t care what the haters say, and wants to give the viewers an over the top performance with Rihanna.
“He wants the fans to know this is the real deal, and he is a changed man. If Rihanna can forgive him, the rest of the world should move on from what happened four years ago,” he believes. Source

Folks have been asking for a live blog of this show for a few years now. And I just don’t know if I can bring myself to do it It’ll take a full jug of wine to get me though the fu@kery.
When the cameras weren’t rolling (at least not for the live broadcast), Rihanna took the opportunity to great her ex, Chris Brown, with what looks like a peck on the lips, a hug and a tousling of the hair. Once again, where the hell is Karrueche?

Breezy’s rep said he wouldn’t be attending the 2012 VMAs. But, according to the pictures of the seating arrangements, not only will he be there, but he’ll be in the front row.
We told you the other day about rumors that Chris and Rihanna would present at the VMAs this year. Well that’s a no go cus he’s not even attending the VMAs.
Someone from his camp confirmed: “[Chris] will not be at VMAs in any capacity.” Source
Sources say that Rihanna and Chris will be presenting an award together at the MTV Video Music Awards.
A source close to Rihanna confirmed she is excited about the idea, “That’s obvious. Hell yeah, she would. [There isn't anything] she wouldn’t do for that [him]. She’d do just about anything for him. One of Brown’s pals agreed, saying, “Why wouldn’t he? It would be the first time in a long.time that he would be on stage with his boo”.
The show airs live on Thursday September 6, 2012. Source
I know they’ve been working on their relationship and repairing the damage done. However, I personally don’t think this is a good idea, nor do I think it sends a good message. But that’s just me. What are your thoughts?
Is Chris’s fight with Drake preventing him from partying?
Sources say that Chris and his entourage were denied entry into Hollywood club Greystone this weekend. The club owners were apparently apprehensive about letting him in because of the fight that occurred between him and Drake at New York’s WiP. So Chris Brown and his posse just found somewhere else to party. Source

Adele is under fire for giving the middle finger to producers of the Brit Awards for cutting her off during her acceptance speech for winning best album
“I am so proud to be British and to be flying the flag,” she was saying when host James Cordon interrupted her to introduce 90s British pop band Blur.
”I flung the middle finger. That was for the suits at the Brit Awards, not my fans,” she said, according to the BBC. ”I’m sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me.”
They couldn’t like, start playing music or something to let her know to wrap it up? I mean he might as well have said, ‘Hey chunks can you shut up cus it’s time for some has-been 90’s band that nobody cares about anymore, to play.”
Additionally, I don’t know why folks are surprised that Adele would do something like this. She never said she was the epitome of class. And we can all tell from that accent she’s not neccessarily from the right side of the tracks. I’m just sayin’…I still love her doe.

A lot of people are pissed that Chris Brown not only won a Grammy, but he performed twice. They feel that someone who beat up his girlfriend shouldn’t be celebrated in any way by his peers or the public.
Well Chris tweeted (and later deleted):
“Strange how we pick and choose who to hate! Let me ask u this. Our society is full of rappers (which I listen to) who have sold drugs (poisoning).
“But yet we glorify them and imitate everything they do. Then right before the worlds eyes a man shows how he can make a Big mistake and learn from it, but still has to deal with day to day hatred! You guys love to hate!!! But guess what???” “HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That’s the ultimate F**K OFF!” The tweets from Brown’s account said at the height of the rampage.
Then he tweeted (and later deleted):
He claimes the last tweet came from one of his assistants. Source
Look, he beat up his girlfriend. What he did was horrific and NONE of us will EVER forget it. But he answered to the courts, is still doing his community service, went to counseling, and is trying to move on with his life. He’s not going to just disappear. He’s an artist and singing/dancing/acting is how he makes his money. As long as he has fans (Team Breezy is devoted), he will continue to make music. If it happens to be good then he’ll be rewarded for it with awards and accolades. He didn’t get the Grammy for beating Rihanna up. He got it for having a great album.
With that said, this boy is so GOT DAMN dumb sometimes. I don’t think his assistant wrote the tweet. I think he did. Someone needs to put parental controls on his smart phone and laptop to block Twitter bcause it’s gonna be his downfall. There are so many other ways, more mature ways he could have responded to the criticism. But the best way would have been to say nothing at all.
Here are the performances from last night’s Grammys in order of appearance.
Don’t forget to check out my commentary on the Red Carpet and the big show HERE and HERE. (I sat in one spot on the couch for 4 hours straight for you people. I’m gonna need you to read each post thrice. Please and thank you.)
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band-We Take Care Of Our Own
Tonight is a huge night for music and for celebriologists like myself. I’ll be live blogging with a little help from my co-editor, a bottle of wine named Fado. Stay tuned for constant updates throughout tonight’s show. And now, onto the show!
The Boss, Springsteen and the E Street Band open the show with “We Take Care of Our Own.” God bless America and raise the roof for New Jersey.
LL comes out to begin the tribute to Whitney HOuston. He does so with a prayer. Am I the only one who was touched to see these stars humble themselves and bow their heads in respect during the prayer, regardless of ther denomination?
A video of Whitney singing ‘I Will Always Love You’ at theGrammys plays next. This is Whitney in her prime…annnnd I’m crying.
Bruno Mars is up performing ‘Runaway.’ I love the band. I love the matching shiny gold jackets. I love the dance moves. What I love most of all is that it looks like his boufant is about to break the eff down because of the sweat. I know y’all see the kink bubblin up on his edges.
(Commercial Break)
Bonnie Raitt and Alicia Keys are onstage to present the first award of the night. But first they’re going to do a mini tribute to the beloved Etta james. Alicia is on keys and Bonnie on strings to bring us “Sunday Kinda Love.” Beautiful.
Best Pop Solo Performance
Someone Like You-Adele
Yoü And I-Lady Gaga
Grenade-Bruno Mars
Firework-Katy Perry
F***in’ Perfect-Pink
As Adele raises tearfully to accept her award, Bruno Mars can be seen backstage throwing a big ole bitch fit. Classy Bruno…classy. Adele keeps her speech sweet and simple and is off the stage in a flash.
LL introduces Chris Brown who is performing for the first time since 2008.
He’s dancing his crazy ass off on a giant pyramid with moving blocks that are also lighting up and going dark. After reaching the top the song switches to ‘Beautiful People.’ The dancing is really crazy with everyone jumpin all over the place. It’s fab but it’s making me nervous. Don’t mind me. I’m a naturally anxious person. In the end, he jumps off stage but then comes back to center stage to do a quick bow/thank you. Good job little buddy. We like you again, sorta. Now just don’t eff it up.
(Commercial Break)
Fergie and Marc Anthony are up to present an award. Why is Fergie trying to sound so, er, hood?
Best Rap Performance
Look At Me Now-Chris Brown, Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes Otis-Jay-Z & Kanye West
The Show Goes On-Lupe Fiasco
Moment 4 Life-Nicki Minaj & Drake
Black And Yellow-Wiz Khalifa
Jay and Yeezy aren’t there so yea, moving right along.
Country queen, Reba MacIntyre introduces Jason Aldine & Kelly Clarkson singing ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay?’ They sound amazing and Kelly’s skin looks like butta. Her hair, meh, not so much.
(Commercial Break)
Jack Black Introduces the Foo Fighters performing ‘Walk’ in the tent outside the Staples Center. No one is this band is pretty…or even clean for that matter. But they’re so damn sexy. This is me telling the whole world that Dave Grehl could get it.
(Commercial Break)
LL introduces Rihanna & Coldplay.
Rihanna starts off by herself singing ‘We Found Love.’ It’s nice to see her sing live and dance at the same time and not sound horrible. Is it me or does she look a little thinner than normal. There was a day when her booty woulda filled out some shorts like that. But whateves…good job Rih.
Fade to black and spotlight on Chris Martin who starts up ‘Princess of China.’ She’s straining through this one…Jesus be a sound technician and cut off her mic. And just like that it’s over. Coldplay ocntinues on with ‘Paradise.’ I think I’m going to just stare at the floor during this. Watching Chris Martin perform upsets me and makes my tummy ache. He looks like some kind of hunched over creature playing that piano. And those teeth! Yea, I’ll be staring at my parkay floors for the next few minutes.
(Commercial Break)
Pauly Parrette (NCIS), Mario Manningham and Victor Cruz are up to present an award. Pauly who looks a little wasted makes Victor salsa. Mario is reading the teleprompter…barely.
Best Rock Performance
Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall-Coldplay
Down By The Water-The Decemberists Walk-Foo Fighters
The Cave-Mumford & Sons
Lotus Flower-Radiohead
The Foo Fighters are KILLING it. They’ve already won a bunch of awards in the pre-show.
Ryan Seacrest is introduces the Beach Boys reunion with Maroon 5 (‘Surfer Girl’) and Foster the People (‘Wouldn’t It Be Nice’).
The Beach Boys themselves take the stage for their reunion with ‘Good Vibrations.’ I’m a little upset that Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) isn’t there. They sound great. But damnit if they don’t look like they’ve been dead for a few weeks.
(Commercial Break)
Stevie Wonder is on the stage to introduce Paul McCartney joined by Diana Krall and Dylan Walsh to perform ‘My Valentine.’
Common and Taraji take the stage to salute Gil Scott-Heron and present an award.
Best R&B Album F.A.M.E.-Chris Brown
Second Chance-El DeBarge
Love Letter-R. Kelly
Pieces Of Me-Ledisi
Kelly-Kelly Price
After stammering a bit and thanking God, The Grammys and his fans, baby boy gets off the stage. Fado gave his swift exit a standing ovation.
The Cival Wars take the stage to open for Taylor Swift. I love The Civil Wars. Taylor, not so much.
She has the stage set up like a junkyard? A juke joint? A barnyard dance? I don’t know. But she looks like a cross between Pippi Longstocking and Little Orphan Annie and it’s making me ANGRY.
Neil Patrick Harris is up to present a big award.
Song Of The Year
All Of The Lights
The Cave
Grenade
Holocene
Rolling In The Deep
Adele is raking em in as well. Get em girl.
LL and Kate Beckinsale introduce Katy Perry. Kery comes out looking crazy as usually. But since she’s performing ‘Extraterrestrial’ it doesn’t bother me as much. The lights/sound go out and the real Katy appears above the stage in a box. The box layers as she starts singing ‘Part of Me.’ I think she sounded good. I can’t seem to take my eyes off of her big, jiggly, (obvz softer than a CareBear’s love patch) boobs.
Miranda Lambert and Deirks Bently are up to present.
Best Country Album
Own The Night-Lady Antebellum
Red River Blue-Blake Shelton
Speak Now-Taylor Swift
Here For a Good Time-George Straight
Chief-Eric Church
(Commercial Break)
Gwyneth Paltrow takes the stage to introduce Adele’s first performance since having throat surgery months ago. Adele opens her mouth and that crazy voice comes belting out. And by crazy i mean crazy good. Mama can blow. She looks nervous. She should just drink up all the love flowing her way from the audience and through the TV set.
Is she crying? Her eyes look watery. Oh no, please God, no break downs now…I gotta save the rest of my tears for the Whitney tribute.
(Commercial Break)
Taylor Swift introduces a Glen Campbell tribute featiureing The Band Perry, Blake Shelton and Glen himself.
(Commercial Break)
Carrie Underwood and Tony Bennett duet ‘It Had to Be You.’ They’re also presenting an award.
Best New Artist
The Band Perry Bon Iver
J. Cole
Nicki Minaj
Skrillex
I don’t know this dude. But I love that he won. Why? FOr one reason and one reason only…Nicki’s mean mug. I can’t and I won’t with her.
Neil Portnow, President of the Academy of Recording Artists takes the stage to talk about keeping music in schools through the MusiCares Foundation. He also introduces a montage of photos of all those music has lost in the past year. THe last photo, Whitney’s, leads into Jennifer Hudson singing ‘I Will Always Love You’ in tribute to Whit. She’s on the verge of rying and my ass is already there.
BREAKING NEWS:
Lil Wayne, who is set to perform any minute now, has been arrested backstage at the Grammys on gun charges. I’ll keep you posted on any updated info.
(Commercial Break)
LL and ?uestlove intorduce David Guetta’s dance party in the ten featuring Dangermouse, Foo Fighters and Chris Brown. There’s no mention of Lil Wayne. He was supposed to be IN this performance. But INstead he’s IN handcuffs IN the back of to patrol car. FAIL!
Oh wait! there he goes! but he’s gone again. Maybe the producers convinced the cops to let him do his 16 bars before going to jail. Thanks?
But enough about the roach. Foo Fighters are on the stage. If i happened to be wearing a bra (I’m not…it’s home mode for Lo) I would throw it right at the TV.
Dangermouse is up. I’m both intrigued and kinda scared of this dude.
(Commercial Break)
Drake introduces Nicki with an epic dramatization called ‘The Exorcism of Roman.’ I don’t understand what’s going on AT ALL. I asked Fado if he knew what was going on. He yawend and rolled his eyes. I’ll take that as a ‘I don’t care.’
Lady Antebellum is on stage to present.
Record of The Year
Rolling In The Deep-Adele
Holocene-Bon Iver
Grenade-Bruno Mars
The Cave-Mumford & Sons
Firework-Katy Perry
(Commercial Break)
LL Welcomes Diana ross on stage to present another huge award.
Album Of The Year
21-Adele
Wasting Light-Foo Fighters
Born This Way-Lady Gaga
Doo-Wops & Hooligans-Bruno Mars
Loud-Rihanna
People may be tight right now…mostly Adele’s ex-boyfriend who in an off handed way inspired this fabulosity, but you must admit that she’s a star.
Paul McCartney and friends take the stage to close out the show. I’m gonna look at the floor while Sir Paul sings as well. His facial expressions are agrivating my epilepsy.
Tonight is a huge night for music and for celebriologists like myself. I’ll be live blogging with a little help from my co-editor, a bottle of wine named Fado. Stay tuned for constant updates throughout tonight’s show. And now, onto the show!
Red Carpet:
Katy Perry-I’m conflicted. Maybe if I look at it longer I’ll decide whether or not I think it’s fab or frumpy.
Lady Gaga-Thisis boring..for her.
Fergie-At this point do we really wanna see her in her drawers?
Grammy Host, LL Cool J and his wife-Is he getting younger? Me thinks so.
Kelly Rowland-Beautiful!
Diana Ross-I love that our mothers, aunties and grandmothers feel that stockings/pantyhose must be worn at all costs.
Amber Rose-Pretty
Cyndi Lauper-Love this chick and her look. It works only for her though.
Sasha-We have no clue who this chick is. *Shrugz
Adele-She went blonde. I’m personally a fan of the ginge Adele, but we like change too.
Kelly Osbourne-I still HATE the pale lavendar/gray hair. (FADO think’s it’s cool.) But I think overall she looks pretty gorge.
Jesse J-It’s a LOT of sparkle. I like shiny things.
Robyn-How dreadful!
Nicki Minaj-God damn you Nicki!
Taylor Swift-This is almost too hot for her to be wearing.
Rihanna-You betta WERK! I’m snapping in all directions and Fado just did a wacking move and almost shattered on the floor.
Alicia Keys-Cute but a little boring. Sidebar, I think she’s wearing the same shoes as Rihanna.

We’ve been hearing rumors of reconciliation between Rihanna and Chris Brown almost since they split. But recently the pair have been spotted partying at the same clubs and were even rumored to be hold up in Rihanna’s dressing room for 5 hours during Grammy rehearsals.
Well now spies say that the two will perform a remix of Rihanna’s ‘Cake’ during the Grammys. Source
One has to wonder, if this actually goes down, how it will affect both of their careers. Will their peers and fans support it or shun them both?
It’s just been announced that Chris Brown will be performing at the Grammys this year. Three years ago Chris beat the bricks off his then girlfriend, Rihanna, at a pre-Grammy party and almost lost his career. But he’s been trying to get his personal life, his mind, and his career back in gear for the past three years and is apparently ready to culminate his comeback with a performance at music’s big night.
Rihanna will also perform at the show and both are up for multiple awards. They were supposed to perform back in 2009 before the ‘incident.’
The Grammys air this Sunday, February 12th at 8p EST. Source
Oh this should be interesting. Carlo Rossi, my co-editor, will covering the event with me live from my couch. Hope to see you there!
Mary J. Blige is feeling some kinda way about not being nominated for a Best Song Oscar. Normally the Original Song category gets four or five nominations but this year only two songs, “Real in Rio” from “Rio” and “Man or Muppet” from “The Muppets,” made the list.
Mary, who performed “The Living Proof” for the film “The Help” said about being snubbed, “It hit hard. It was kinda rough. I must say.
“I’m confused. I don’t know what to say except for I just gotta keep doing what I do and look at this as a battery in my back to keep striving and be thankful for the lesson, count it as a blessing.
“I think the lesson is to just keep going. Don’t let things make you spiral down,” she said. “The positive side is that there’s obviously something better” for me. Source
I like the road she took. She was honest about her feelings but gracious at the same time. Thanks MJB.

LL Cool Jay has been announced as the host of the 54th Grammy Awards. This is the first time in xeven years that the awards have had a host. The last host was Queen Latifah in 2005.
LL said in a statement: “I’m thrilled to be part of Music’s Biggest Night. I will always have fond memories of my first Grammys Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true.”
The 2012 Grammy Awards will air on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Sunday, February 12, 2012. Source
I didn’t watch the awards show, mostly because I don’t watch damn near anything that was nominated. The only wins that made me smile are Idris in Luther and Kelsey in Boss. Everything else I could give a damn about.

Beyonce was also snubbed. Although she did get nominated for two awards, many expected her to be at the top of the list of nominees. Unlike Jill and Miguel, however, she has yet to speak out on it. Source
Although I’m sure all three should have been recognized, or in Bey’s case, recognized more, throwing a tantrum isn’t really the way to get the respect of the award committee. I’m just sayin’.

Director Brett Ratner, was set to produce the 2012 Academy Awards, but he’s stepped down after using a homophobic slur during a media event for “Tower Heist.”
When asked a fan question, he said, “Rehearsal is for f*gs.”
He quickly issued an apology and resigned. He wrote“Over the last few days, I’ve gotten a well-deserved earful from many of the people I admire most in this industry expressing their outrage and disappointment over the hurtful and stupid things I said in a number of recent media appearances. To them, and to everyone I’ve hurt and offended, I’d like to apologize publicly and unreservedly.
“Everyone who knows me knows that I don’t have a prejudiced bone in my body. But as a storyteller I should have been much more thoughtful about the power of language and my choice of words. So many artists and craftspeople in our business are members of the LGBT community, and it pains me deeply that I may have hurt them. I should have known this all along, but at least I know it now: words do matter.
“Being asked to help put on the Oscar show was the proudest moment of my career. But as painful as this may be for me, it would be worse if my association with the show were to be a distraction from the Academy and the high ideals it represents.
“I deeply regret my actions and I am determined to learn from this experience.”
Tom Sherak, President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, issued the following statement:
“[Brett] did the right thing for the Academy and for himself. Words have meaning, and they have consequences. Brett is a good person, but his comments were unacceptable. We all hope this will be an opportunity to raise awareness about the harm that is caused by reckless and insensitive remarks, regardless of the intent.” Source
So basically he would have been fired if he didn’t quit.
UPDATE: Eddie Murphy Quit Too…
Just a day after Brett resigned from his production dutes for this years Oscars, Eddie Murphy has chosen not to host.
He said in a statement:
“First and foremost I want to say that I completely understand and support each party’s decision with regard to a change of producers for this year’s Academy Awards ceremony. I was truly looking forward to being a part of the show that our production team and writers were just starting to develop, but I’m sure that the new production team and host will do an equally great job.” Source

Eddie Murphy has signed on to host the 84th Annual Academy Awards show to air on February 26, 2012.
He released a statement that reads:
“I am enormously honored to join the great list of past Academy Award hosts from [Bob] Hope and [Johnny]Carson to [Billy] Crystal, [Steve] Martin and [Whoopi]Goldberg, among others.
“I’m looking forward to working with Brett [Ratner] and Don[Mischer] on creating a show that is enjoyable for both the fans at home and for the audience at the Kodak Theatre as we all come together to celebrate and recognize the great film contributions and collaborations from the past year.”
Brett Ratner, who will be producing this year’s show, told reporters:
“Eddie is a comedic genius, one of the greatest and most influential live performers ever. With his love of movies, history of crafting unforgettable characters and his iconic performances — especially on stage — I know he will bring excitement, spontaneity and tremendous heart to the show Don and I want to produce in February.” Source
I wonder if Eddie will be able to redeem himself as a viable comedian with this gig. Let’s hope so.
So Lindsay’s got he sights set on a new dude…this time it’s none other than C Breezy. She tweeted about his VMA performance then invited him to a meeting in the ladies room. Well that’s not exactly what she said, but at this point we’ve learned to read between the lines with Lilo.
The rag mag gossip fiend in me wants this to happen so bad. However, the decent human being in me needs these two to NEVER meet. It’s like a powder keg of booze, blow and batshit crazy.
In Other Breezy News…
Chris dropped his Rolex watch at the MTV Video Awards and a fan actually returned it. His $22K watch came loose during his performance and he tried to throw it to a save place while he continued to sing. But it ended up in the audience. His security went into the crowd to inquire about the watch and an honest fan handed it over. R&B singer Chris Brown’s representative has thanked a fan who found the star’s lost Rolex watch at the Mtv Video Music Awards and handed it to security staff.
Breezy’s spokesperson said, “Although Chris did not get to meet the fan, he is very appreciative of the fan’s actions.” Source
Shiiiiiiit, $22K? They’re better than me cus my student loans woulda been paid off AND I woulda had a Mini Cooper. Say word.
Everyone seemed to notice that there’s still some tension between Breezy and Jay-Z, when at the VMAs during Chris’s performance, Jay sat in his chair refusing to smile, clap or react really.
I have a theory about the shenanigans that go on with the VMAs, and it goes a little something like this…something ridonculous WILL go down every OTHER year. Think about it…four years ago we had Britney’s messy ass performance ala this:
The year after she was back and everyone was well behaved. Then two years ago there was Kanyegate ala this:
And last year was a big ole snore fest. So that means (I’m hoping) that someone, anyone will go off the reservation and make me sitting here for the next three hours with likely zero potty breaks and a bladder full of wine all worth it.
So, I’ll be doing like I normally do, sitting here recording this kibble live. I’ll repost during the commercial breaks and add photos and vid as I get my grubby little hands on them.
With that said, let’s get it crackin with the black carpet, shall we?

Interviews/Performances:
Sway opens the show with the cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore. A new episode of season 4 aired just prior to hte preshow. Everyone looks great..well, great for them. Dina’s dress is making me dizzzy though. It’s like a gay midget tripping on acid threw up on itself. BUt I degress. Her blond extentions are also a problem, but her apparent plastic surgery is…a plus?
Anyway, all the arivals will walk through the step in repeat at the JW Mariott Hotel in LA. I’m really feeling the set up they’ve created.
Jim Cantiello is up with DJ Khaled, Rick Ross and some other dude are first up. Rick has on a shirt…praise Jesus, Allah, Yaweh and Xenu.
James Montgomery is up with Wiz Khalifah and Amber Rose. Wiz is up for the Best New Artist Award. Amber looks gorge (yea I said it). I’m always happy to actually hear her talk. As ridiculous as these two are, I kinda like them together. They seem happy.
Sway welcomes Selena Gomez who’s wearing a super short dresss with a train. I’m not sure if I like it. I think I would like it on someone who didn’t look like htere were 12.
James Montgomery is up with Pitbull and his date, Natalie Martinez, whom Pitbull introduces as a hot new star we’ll be hearing about soon. Pitbull is all set for his performance tonight which hepromisses will bring all the heat that Miami has to bring.
Jim Cantiello is up with a preview of the rest of this season of ‘Jersey Shore’, which brings us a new definition of STD: Stop the Drama. I can’t wait for the rest of this seson.
Sway is back with Selina Gomez and Demi Lovato. Demi looks healthy and curvacious and looking at her next to selina makes me a little concerned about Selina’s weigh..or lack there of. Sway talks to Demi about her new upcoming album. Glad to see she’s getting herself together. Next up we have our first Pre-Show performance.
I’m sorry, but i have no idea who these folks are.
Sway chats it up with Seth Rogen who is still looking skinning and adorable. Selina is talking to Jessi J who’s wearing a onesie and a cast. Jessie broke her ankle but decided to show up anyway. She even bedazzled her walking cast and critches to match her onesie.
James Montgomery talks to Taylor Lutner for a smidge before we get to Jim Cantiello who’s talking to Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All. Tyler the Creator says that he’ll kill himself if Beiber wins anything.
Sway welcomes the cast of the new MTV show Awkward which has already been renewed for a second season.
Sway presents the first award of the night.
Best Video With a Message
Eminem f/Rihanna-”Love the Way You Lie”
Katy Perry-”Firework”
Lady Gaga-”Born This Way”
Pink-”F__king Perfect”
Rise Against the Machine-”Make it Stop”
Taylor Swift-”Mean”
Guest host Selena Gomez has her boyfriend, Justin Bieber who’s carring around a corn snake called Johnson…the jokes are WAY too easy. He lookes extra lezzilicious right now. I can’t with him. He makes sure to give her a smooch before they cut to James Montgomery who’s got Nicky Minaj to interview.
She’s covered in a Hirajuco mess. There’s a face mask, ice cream necklace, matal cone dress, stuffed cat bag. Anyweird, they share a clip of Nicki’s new video featuring Rihanna, ‘Fly.’
James has Foster the people up..I’m enjoying their suits but they’re not very rock if you ask me. Next he interviews theFoo Fighters who look a lot more rock and roll…but they’re also like 20 years older and have been around the block a few times.
Jim is talking to the cast of ‘Teen Wolf’ who also got picked up for a second season. I watched the first few episodes of the show adn loved it. But it interfered with a few of my other DVR’d shows and I had to let it go. I”ll catch it on the flip side.
They just showed a clip of Beyonce arriving wearing some type of mumu/caftan thingie. Unless she apppears later wearing some poom poom shorts and a bra, the pregnancy rumors can start now.
UPDATE!…CONFIRMED
James talks to Swizz Beatz about fashion and how he decides on who to work with musically.
LMFAO is up looking like the ass tools that I’m sure they are.
Selena has Britters who looks clean and neet in a sequin top and short combo. Britney is being honored tonight.
James has 30 Seconds to Mars who look extra glam. Jared Leto has to have some type of youth syrum. THere’s no way he’s 39.
Sway welcomes Katy Perry. Hubby and former VMA host, Russell Brand, escorts her to the platform and then backs up to let her shine. Super sweet.
OK, now time for me to fill up my wine glass and crack my knuckles for some rapid fire typing because here’s the show!
2011 MTV Video Music Awards
The show opens with a performance by Lady Gaga dressed as her male alter ego, Joe Calderone, who does a monologue about…uh, about something.
Anyway, Joe hops on the piaon and performs “You and I”. Joe gets up and is joined by other greasers for some lovely choreo. She look smore butch than her gays dancing behind her.
Brian May of Queen, joins her on stage for a guitar solo. Gaga gets really excited jumping off a piano and falls the f__k off the stage. But it’s all good. SHe’s a pro and hops back on to finsih the song. Amazing!
Kevin Hart Opens with a quick little jokie joke time.
Anyway, he introduces the first presnets, Nicki Minaj and Johan Hill.
BEST POP VIDEO:
Adele – “Rolling In The Deep”
Bruno Mars – “Grenade” Britney Spears – “Till The World Ends”
Katy Perry – “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)”
Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo, Nayer & Afrojack – “Give Me Everything”
Even though the VMAs don’t have a host, it looks like Kevin Hart is going to run this bish. Anyway, the house band is Jesse J and her band. She’ll be bringing us into and out of hte commercial breaks. Thanks Jesse.
Back from the break we have Jay and Kanye with OTIS. I’m not in love with the sound but there’s fire and smoke machines..oh wait, and some asshole running up on stage. SECURITY!!!!
BEST ROCK VIDEO:
The Black Keys – “Howlin For You” Foo Fighters – “Walk”
Foster the People – “Pumped Up Kicks”
Mumford & Sons – “The Cave”
Cage The Elephant – “Shake Me Down”
This is the 12 VMA nomination for the Foo Fighters and only their second win. Congrats boys!
The Beastie Boys of the Future (Will Ferrel, Jack Black and Seth Rogen) are dance battling with Odd Future. Anyway, Odd Future wins, without The Beastie Boys of the FUture even trying and as winners they get to present the next award.

Wayne featuring Cory Gunz – “6’7″
Kanye West featuring Rihanna and Kid Cudi – “All Of The Lights”
Chris Brown featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes – “Look at Me Now”
Lupe Fiasco – “The Show Goes On” Nicki Minaj – “Super Bass”
Nicki brings up on stage her on again/off again boyfriend Safaree on stage, rememba the dude who she got into a crazy fight with at a hotel recently. He’s got a drink in hand. Put it down dude! Sidebar, did anyone notice how excited Weezy was. He was being flirty and touching her leg before she went up and I’m pretty sure he wanted a kiss square on the mouth, tho the cheek. I see you Weezy.
BEST COLLABORATION:
Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo, Nayer & Afrojack – “Give Me Everything”
Chris Brown featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes – “Look At Me Now”
Kanye West Featuring Rihanna and Kid Cudi – “All Of The Lights” Katy Perry Featuring Kanye West – “E.T.”
Nicki Minaj featuring Drake – “Moment 4 Life
Katy makes an inappropriate Kanyegate reference. This is her zillionth nomination but first win. Loves it.
Rick Ross and Paul Rudd intorduce Pitbull, Neyo, and Naya.
Kimmie Cakes is up to present wearing a dress that has her cinched to within an inch of her life.
BEST MALE VIDEO:
Cee Lo Green – “F*** You”
Eminem featuring Rihanna – “Love The Way You Lie”
Bruno Mars – “Grenade”
Kanye West Featuring Rihanna and Kid Cudi – “All Of The Lights” Justin Bieber – “U Smile”
Why does this jit keep winning ish?!
Joe Jonas and Victoria Justice are up to introduce Chris Brown….um, this is a pretty dynamic perfomrance, i gotsta admit.
Joe Calderone (Gaga) is back for the Britney tribute and her presentation of the Michael Jackson Video Vangaurd Award. The stage is suddenly stormed by a bunch of little girls all dressed in various Brit video costumes to do a mash up of her songs. Loves!
Gaga tried to get a kiss out of it, but Brit isn’t playing. Brit says a quick thank you then introduces Beyonce. She starts off with “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me.” Indeed Bey, for the next few months we’re going to be completely consumed with the love growing inside your diamond studded womb.
Anyway, with gut full of human she’s still dancing around in 6 inch heels. I’m actually concerned the baby is gonna fall out with all that jumping around. The second I get knocked up I’m going on a self-induced bed rest. #lazy
She kicks ass with her perfornace then drops her mick, opens her sequined jacket and rubs that belly of hers. I’m mildly in love and I don’t eve know why.
Selena Gomez and Taylor Lutner are up to present.
BEST NEW ARTIST:
Foster the People – “Pumped Up Kicks”
Wiz Khalifa – “Black and Yellow” Tyler, The Creator – “Yonkers”
Big Sean featuring Chris Brown – “My Last”
Kreayshawn – “Gucci Gucci”
I love how his mom just pulled a black folks funeral fall out. Additionally, I love how his crew stormed the stage and sent Selena running for her life. Biggups to the guy who has to push the bleep button cus he just earned his check with that acceptance speech.
Jared Leto and Zoe Saldana are up to present Young the Giant’s VMA premiere.
Cloris Leachman and the ‘Jersey Shore’ girls are up. This is a mess.
BEST FEMALE VIDEO: Adele – “Rolling In The Deep”
Katy Perry – “Firework”
Beyoncé – “Run The World (Girls)”
Nicki Minaj – “Super Bass” Lady Gaga – “Born This Way”
She’s guzzling some brown juice and hugging every…she’s also still dressed as Joe. I love that she forewent the 13 inch heelz and 12 costume changes and went with drag. She’s a wonderful weirdo.
Russell Brand is up to start off the Amy Winehouse tribute. He introduces Tony Bennett who’d recorded some music with Amy just prior to her death. We get to hear a sample of it. Next up is Bruno Mars performing Amy and Mark Ronson’s “Valerie.”
Jennifer Lawrence (via satellite feed) introduces the first official trailer for “The Hunger Games.” Eh, it doesn’t give me enough to want to go see it. I need more.
Katie Holmes is up to present the bit award of the night.
VIDEO OF THE YEAR: Adele – “Rolling in the Deep”
Tyler, The Creator – “Yonkers” Katy Perry – “Firework”
Beastie Boys – “Make Some Noise”
Bruno Mars – “Grenade”
Closing out the show is Drake to introduce Weezy and Nicki. Sidebar, Drake, in that sweater looks a little pudgy.
Wayne’s emotional autotune is making me feel REALLY weird inside. Is he gonna cry? Oh wait, now the real Wayne is out. he’s jumpin around like a monkey with his shirt off. Strangely i find this Wayne more comforting.
They just showed ‘Jersey Shore’s Ronnie on someone’s shoulder’s in teh crowd. Who picked that big dude up?
And there’s NO WAY anyone is gonna tell me that Wayne is sober. NO WAY!
OK, so highlights: Bey’s bump, Gaga’s drag, Brit’s tribute, the Negrosity surrounding Tyler the Creator’s win for Best New Artist.
Lowlights: I can’t really think of any. So overall, this was a good one.
Remember, over the next 24 hours I’ll be updating with pics and vid as I get them. Goodnight my lovelies, catch you on the flippy.
The rest of the winners:
Best Choreography: Beyoncé, “Run the World (Girls)”
Best Visual Effects: Katy Perry featuring Kanye West, “E.T.”
The 2011 VMA nods are out and leading the pack is Katy Perry with nine and Kanye and Adelle with seven a piece. See below for the nominations and my picks in red.

I hope this year is something to talk about. I feel like every two years the VMAs brings something interesting. Four years ago we had Brit’s ‘comeback’ with her bloated performance. Two years ago was Kanyegate. So this year I better see a streaker or proposal, or maybe they can bring ODB back from the dead to do something wildly inappropriate. “WU TANG IS FOR THE CHILDREN!” (Lo drops mic and exits stage left.)

So at the end of the night the Viewer’s Choice award was presented. Tiffany Green, a lucky Nicky Minaj fan joined Rosci and Terrence J on stage to present the Coca Cola Viewer’s Choice award. And due to either a HUGE Eff up or a strategicly planned publicity stunt, poor Tiffany announced the wrong winner. She first announced Chris Brown. Then she said that Drake and Rihanna won. It was later announced at the end of the show that Chris was in fact the winner.
Tiffany took to Twitter to explain what happened. She wrote:
Shortly after, Vice president of programming Stephen Hill took to his twitter and admitted the mistake was all his.
I generally only do a live blog of the Grammys and MTV Music awards but I’m feeling generous, so why not this show too.
This year the awards are held at the MGM Grand in Vegas.
Red Carpet:
Taylor Swift
Rihanna
Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban
Kelly Rowland

Keri Hilson
Randy Jackson
Far East Movement
Lady Antebellum
Matthew Morrison
And On To The Show!
Rihanna opens the show with S&M, halfway through her burlesque show, Britney Spears pops up on stage wearing a bunny mask and equally scantily clad. Their performance was the most.
Next hoast Ken Jeong is joined on stage by Nicki Minaj and Pat Moynahan from Train for an Oscar-esque opener. The song wasn’t that interesting or funny but Nicki definitely grabbed Ken’s junk.
Matthew Morrison is up to present Billboard Album of the Year.
Lady Antebellum
Taylor Swift
Eminem
Susan Boyle
Justin Bieber
I’m soooo sick of her!
Ken Jeong & Eric Stonestreet (Cam on ‘Modern Family’)come out in Elvis costumes…I think I see man cameltoe on Eric. They present Digital Artist of the Year.
Lady Gaga
Akon
Eminem
Justin Bieber
Sick of this kid too.
Kylie Minogue comes out to present introduce the Black Eyed Peas. Her dress (if you can call it that) is hideous but her bod is sooo fab.
BEP performs a mash up of their hits Addicted, I Got a Feelin’, and some other ish. I’m over these mofos as well…
We’re back from commercial and we have Ken in some dumb ass clip running around Vegas…are they just trying to fill time? Cus that’s what it looks like.
They guys from ‘The Hangover Part II’ come on to introduce Keith Urban.
Randy Jackson is on stage with his skinny jeans on and a shiny jacket. When you’re as portly as Randy, skinny jeans and shiny clothes are NOT for you. He’s opbiously ignoring the hundreds of letters I’ve sent to his management team. Sigh, anyway he’s there to present Top Hot 100 Song.
Taio Cruz-Dynamite
Eminem feat. Rihanna-Love the Way You Lie
Bruno Mars-Just the Way You Are
Katy Perry feat. Snoop Dogg-California Girls
Usher Feat. Will.i.am-OMG
I don’t know much about this dude. I didn’t even know that he was english. He started talking and I almost shat myself. In any event, it’s nice to see a fresh face thanking their lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Nas comes out with Ken, who is dressed like Flavor Flav and acting a GOT DAMN FOOL to introduce Pitbull and Ne-Yo performing ‘Give Me Everything.’ ARe Ne-Yo’s shoes bronze? I believe they are. Well at least Pitbull looks good.
Tim Allen is up to present the award for Country Song of the Year.
Sugarland-Stuck LIke Glue
Miranda Lamber-The House that Built Me
Lady Antebellum-Need You Now
The Band Perry-If I Die Young
Taylor Swift-Mine
I’m not a country head but this song does something to me. Glad they’re killing it.
Back from commercial and Beyonce’s people are talking about how awesome she is in a taped spot…these people include her mama, papa, Solange, her nephew Daniel, Gaga, The-Dream, Stevie Wonder, Bono, Babyface, Barbara Streisand and even the first lady. And then, Bey hits the steigh in a fury to perform ‘Run the World (Girls)’. She’s performing in front of a white screen with images streaming behind her and during most of the performance she’s interacting with the images in teh background which must have taken A LOT of practice cus the production is seamless. She’s eventually joined on stage by 70-100 dances, there’s fire, there’s smoke, and I love it! She may not write her own music..but bish is talented in her own right.
Mama Knowles comes on stage with Juelz to present her with the Billboard Millineum award. Bey thanks Billboard, her family (ma and dad in particular), Kelly and Michelle, and even the original members of Destiney’s child, Latoya and Latavia, her hubby (“I love me some Jay-Z” she said.), and the artists who paid tribute to her tin the spot that aired prior to her performance. Her speech seemed really heartfelt. For once, I’m not annoyed..and I just might cry. It’s probably because I’m hormonal most days of the month.
Selena Gomez and Rigo Rodriquez (Manny on ‘Modern Family) present Top Duo/Group.
The Black Eyed Peas
Bon Jovi
Lady Antebellum
Linkin Park
U2
Kelly Rowland and Trey Songs introduce Cee-Lo Green, winner of Billboard’s Viral Innovator award, to perform a mashup of his hits.
Everything on him is sparkeling, from his jacket to his hsades to his pian-uh. He starts off with Crazy and goes into ‘It’s Alright’ as his piano starts to rise from the stage. It then makes a full 360 degree revolution before he starts singing ‘Forget You.’ I just noticed his LIberace ruffle sleeves. I’m excited and horrified at the same time. Love this guy. Kelly and Tray come on stage to present him with his award and he keeps it short and simple with a ‘Thank you! Thank you all! This is great!”
Ken is back with Keith Urban to have a banjo battle. I don’t get the point…or even why it’s supposed to be funny. But Lady Antebellum is up singing ‘Just a Kiss.’
Joe Jonas is on to present Radio Artist of the Year
Drake
Bruno Mars
Katy Perry
Rihanna
Usher
Whether or not you want to like the billy goat, you can’t help but admit that she’s infectious.
Apollo Anton Ono introduces Taio Cruz performing ‘Break Your Heart’ and ’Dynamite.’
Snoop Dogg and Far East Movement present the award for Top New Artist.
Taio Cruz
Bruno Mars
Ke$ha
Justin Bieber
Nicki Minaj
Shocker…sigh. Whatevs.
Ken challenges Travis Barker to a drum off. Once again, I don’t know why this is happening. Anyway they introduce One Republic performing ‘Good Life’ and Far East Movement performing ’Rocketeer’ feat. Ryan Tedder and ‘OMG’ feat. Snoop Dogg.
Keri Hilson introduces Mary J. Blige and Lil’ Wayne performing ‘Someone to Love Me.’ I honestly didn’t know that Mary had anything new out. Wayne’s part woulda been hot if they didn’t have to bleep out most of it.
Pat Moynahan presents Country Artist of the Year.
Taylor Swift
Jason Aldean
Lady antebellum
Zac Brown Band
Kenny Chesney
Pukes…is this show over yet?
After the commercial break Bret Michaels introduces Ke$ha…I have no idea what song she’s singing. I just can’t take my eyes off her boxy ass shape. Womp. There are some red horsemen with extermination packs acting as her backup dancers. Is this referencing the rapture? No? Oh…so anyone else wanna break out their glow sticks adn party for 12 hours straight cus this performance has me feelin some type of way.
will.i.am is up to introduce Top Touring Artist.
Bon Jovi
Michael BUble
Lady Gaga

I guess U2 is cool. There’s just something about Bono that irritates the living shit out of me.
Ken introduces Billboard’s Fan Favorite Justin Bieber to present the Female Artist of the Year.
Katy Perry
Taylor Swift
Ke$ha
Rihanna
Lady Gaga
The Script takes the stage to present the winner for Chevrolet’s Battle of the Bands Gentlemen Hall. The band, which hails from Boston, Mass. also performed.
Taylor Swift is up to introduce Nicki Minaj. Nicki takes the stage with her barbies and some guy in a really cheap chicken suit (I don’t know either). She starts off with ‘Super Bass.’ A bunch of shirtless guys take the stage and sit in chairs so that Nicki and all her barbies can give them lap dances. Then she goes into her part on Britney’s ‘Til the World Ends’ as an intro for Brit to take the stage and sing a verse from the song. And by ‘sing’ I mean lipsync…which is what singing apparently means these days.
After the break Matthew Morrison is back to present Neil Diamond with the Icon Award. He then performed ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘America’ as the audience sang along like they were all drunk at a Kareoke bar. There’s a gospel choir backing him up. The American flag is up in lights…Alls we need is Osama’s body swinging back in forth in the background and we’ve got ourselves a party!
Mo’nique was noticeably absent from the Oscars last weekend and some are speculating that it was because she wasn’t paid to present.
Her husband/manager, Sidney Hicks told USA Today that she was busy taping episodes of her talk show and that announcing the nominations earlier this year had been her way of participating in the ceremony. Source

I found the awards neither surprising nor exciting. James Franco was obviously smoked out or oxy’d out because he had the energy and enthusiasm of a sleepy sigh. Anne Hathaway on the other hand looked like she was trying to overcomepensate with her slightly manic ‘extra’ everything. Anywho, congrats to all the winners. See you next year!
Some people noticed that Fantasia was mysteriously absent from the Grammys this past Sunday. And by ‘some people’ I mean no one.
Anyway, she explained her reason for not being there had to do with the Aretha Franklin tribute.
She said, “I’m going to be very honest with you. You know I wasn’t at the Grammys last night, I’m kind of going through my own little thing…last night they were honoring someone who is my idol, Aretha Franklin, and there is no way I could have sat there and not got the happy feet and wanting to jump on the mic because she is my favorite so I felt like, you know, at the end of the day I should have been on that stage so, I kind of did my own little thing last night.
“I watched Cee-lo’s performance, I love Cee lo, love Gaga, watched Gaga, and I love Rihannas performance, but I kind of cooked and did my own think last night and was in my own world and was hoping that I won. I have this feeling, like every year I go, I feel like they always look over some of the good singers that are still around and I’m not trying to be funny but that’s just the way I felt, so I didn’t go into it like I usually do, I wan’t there, so you know I caught some performances, Cee Lo was one of my favorites I love Love love . Source
C-Breezy has spent the past two years trying to make a comeback after his assault on ex girlfriend, Rihanna. He even was nominated for three Grammys at yesterday’s award show. But he won in none of the categories. His response came via a tweet that read:
“To all the fans!! I love y’all. Don’t be upset!! This industry is based on politics and asskissing! My only concern is team breezy! F*** everybody else! Im just happy to be able to make music!! #teambreezyrocks !!!”
He could be right. But he has to realize that people are slow to forget. I guess that will make him think twice about pretty much EVERYTHING he does for the rest of his life.

I haven’t decided whether or not to do a live blog yet. The Oscars is pretty friggin boring so I’ll prolly just hit yall up with a winners list after the whole snorefest is over.
Soulja Boy feels like he was slighted at the 2008 Grammys. He was up for best rap song for ‘Crank Dat (Soulja Boy)” But lost out to Kanye’s ‘Good Life.”
He said initially he “wasn’t really thinking about it” and was optimistic that he would “get it next year.” But while recording his third recently released third album, “The DeAndre Way,” he felt like “he should have got that Grammy.” Source
I’m issuing out a Fail to him for even suggesting such foolishness. Please note that this Fail will be accompanied by a heavy sigh, severe side eye and a boisterous ‘C’mon son!’

The 2011 Grammy’s air on February 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
Chrisette Michelle blogged about how upset she was over Rick Ross leaving the 2010 Soul Train Awards after losing to Eminem for Best Hip Hop Song.
She wrote:
If this is the way hip hop is then I denounce it.
This is not about ego. This is about what I can bring to the world. My life is for the people. I live to give.
It’s my desire to bring life and freedom light and love everywhere I go. Upward mobility in the brown skinned community.
Who stands off at an award show because they don’t win? An award is winning at being as “stuck in a category” as possible. Congratulations to all the trophy holders who won at being the most like every one else.
I could have sworn hip hop was on the come up. But apparently rapping is about venting, bashing, chauvinistic pigging, and EGO. Not cool. Don’t LET me start rapping. (album in stores november 30th)
They say…I’m ecclectic. I’m underrated. I’m different. Well If I win an award it’s because I paved a way. Every award I’ve won was new in it’s category. You know why? Because I’m amazing at being my damn self.
Grammy – best alternative R&B song Centric award – Soul Approved Etc.
Have u even heard of those categories? Nope. But guess what? You ain’t never seen another me. And u never will. No ego here. Why? Because it’s none needed. My award is waking up every morning and CAKING off of what I believe in by the grace of God. Source
Rihanna performed at this weekend’s EMAs and her performance was almost ruined by a crazed fan who jumped on stage.
She was singing “Only Girl (In the World) when a man jumped the barrier and flew up on stage to get close to her. He was quickly pinned down by security and dragged off.
Nicki Minaj and Jay-Z won big at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards. She took home three awards: Rookie of the Year, Made-You-Look Award and People’s Champ Award.
She said, “Last year, I was here in anticipation of the cipher. Now I’m here in anticipation of my debut (Pink Friday, slated for November 23).
“I’m paving the way for girls. I wanna thank all the girls of hip-hop.”
Jay-Z, who wasn’t in attendence also won three awards. Source
I was going to watch for the ridiculousness that I’m sure ensued. But I refuse to have anything to do with Mike Epps (who hosted the show). He is so not funny, which I find strange since comedy is what he does for a living.
Rihanna didn’t think she’d make it to this year’s VMAs because of a scheduling conflict but she was able to get a last minute reprieve from the filming of her new movie, “Battleship.” She said, “I got the day off and Eminem called me the day before and said, ‘Please, I’m having a really hard time doing this without you. We had a really great song.’”
She added, “They allowed us to leave and do it, and we jetted in and we’re going to jet right back out.” Source
She looks like she jetted in because that wig is a hot ass mess.
will.I.Am took to twitter to respond to the “black face” criticism he’s received after showing up the the VMAs wit hhis face painted black.
“1st. just because I where all black including head mask as expression and emphasize my outfit, it shouldn’t be looked at as racial…Let go of the past. there are far more important things 2 bark about. (Jobs, health, education) not a black man wearing all black everything.”
“Are you guys serious? my outfit set “black people back 100 yrs” choose your twits wisely. no education sets people back, no jobs, bad health,” @iamwill
Yes, it’s technally black face and yes it’s disturbing, but only because it makes him look scary. I don’t see the big deal. People need to calm the hell down.
Keyshia Cole went on Twitter to tell us all why she wasn’t at the VMAs.
She tweeted:
By the way, if you are wondering why she wasn’t at the MTV Video Music Awards this year, she’s claiming she wasn’t invited. Here’s what she had to say:
MTV TOLD ME IM NOT A …….. MTV ARTIST…. SOOOOO.
idk they’re perception of who am…. i haven’t crossed over yet…. i only sell 1.5 every album.. thats only 5 mill. in 5 years @keyshiacole Source
I think she’s cool and all but I didn’t even miss her there. Never in a million years if asked, “It was a damn shame that ______ wasn’t at the VMAs (fill in the blank)” would I have said Keyshia Cole.
Actress Regina King wrote an open letter on how she feels about the Prime Time Emmy awards that was just held a fw weeks ago.
She wrote:
Since the Emmy ceremony, I have been going back and forth about whether or not I should compose this letter. I try hard in my daily life not to engage in uncomfortable situations regarding race. But sometimes it’s very difficult to find other reasons that better explain why certain events play out the way they do. It is impossible for me to ignore the published statistics regarding the number of people of color mentioned, celebrated or honored in the history of the televised Emmys. Up to and including this year, there have been only 53 non-white actors nominated for Emmys out of nearly 1,000 possible nominations in the top four acting categories for drama and comedy.
I’ve worked in television nearly all of my professional life, and that statistic is quite sobering to me. And to add injury to my already sensitive nerve endings a picture of Rutina Wesley from True Blood, who attended this year’s Emmys, had a caption that read: “Regina King enters the 62nd Emmys.” No, I wasn’t there. Mistakes happen, right? Well after a few “mistakes” of how people of color are portrayed in the Hollywood media, I decided it was important to say something about how things go down in Hollywood.
Other black actors were also snubbed by the Emmy’s this year. However, the snubs didn’t come as a shock considering the fact that previous critically-acclaimed series, “The Wire,” which also boasted a mostly African-American cast, only earned two nominations during its six-year-run.
According to Variety, since 1986, non-white actors have received only 53 nominations out of nearly 1000 in the top four acting categories for drama and comedy. Only eight have ever won. Source
Kanye West and Drake are among the performers signed on to be at the 2010 VMAs. He’s go an new album out and he’s gonna promote it damnit. MTV must be over the hoopla he caused last year when he crashed Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech.
This will be Drake’s first VMA performance and he will be joined by Florence + The Machine, who will perform “Dog Days Are Over.”
Presenting on the show will be Nicki Minaj, Ne-Yo, Penn Badgley, Emma Stone, Trey Songz, Selena Gomez and others.
You can check out the show on September 12th at 9pm. I’ll be posted up blogging live so stay tuned. Source
Since Kanye is trying to sell records, do you think he’ll be on his best behavior? No? Me either.
In other Kanye News…
Kanye interviewed with Hot 97 and talked about his relationship and breakup with Amber Rose.
Of their breakup he said, “Yeah man, it was an amazing time and it came to an end.
“One of the greatest things that she showed me was just to be a nicer person because she was so disconnected from the concept of celebrity when I first met her,” he later added. “A celebrity could be talking to people crazy and everyone’s used to it at the label like, ‘He’s wildin’ out. It doesn’t matter.’ [Amber] be like, ‘What?! You just talked to your fans so crazy right now. I’m not even talking to you right now.’”
He added that their relationship made him think about having kids.
He said, “I grew from that. I think that was the greatest growth that I got from that experience. My goal in life is to really have an amazing woman and have a family, but I think I had to go through these different things to grow.”
Kanye refuses to take credit for the fame Amber received after dating him.
“The person has to have a piece of that in them,” he admitted. “They have to be interesting, but throughout my life I’ve picked stars before too, not particularly that I’m dating, but just finding a person that you think can be a star and would be interesting to people.”
He’s not ready to jump right into another relationship unless it’s with the right woman.
“I’m not trying to dive into anything unless I really, really think that I can marry this person. I look at this person and I say, ‘This is how I want my daughter to be.’” Source
Yea, he doesn’t need to jump into a damn thing. Where’s that Alexis girl he was with…she seemed really good for him.
Lady Gaga received 13 VMA nominations, a record breaking total. She’s even competing against herself in the Best Pop Video, Best Female Video and Video of the Year categories.
She says, “I’m so honored for all the little monsters (fans) and self-professed freaks of the universe to have more VMA nominations in a single year than any artist in MTV history. Ironically, I’m even more proud it’s an unlucky number – 13.
“A long time ago the world told me and my little monsters we would never be heard, together we changed the rules. God put me on Earth for three reasons: To make loud music, gay videos and cause a damn raucous (sic). Thank you, MTV!” Source
At this rate she’ll be leader of the free world in no time.
Here’s the list of the Emmy nods. I’ve highlighted my pics (please note these are my faves, not necessarily who I think will win).

Looks like good noms to me. We’ll just have to see how this pans out.
Lloyd is back peddling after he made statements saying that he had something to do with Chris Brown’s crocodile tears. Here’s what he has to say now:
“I consider Chris a friend. He’s been through a lot in the past couple years. I never told him to go on stage and cry. We spoke recently, and I told him as a friend that people hadn’t really seen him be vulnerable about his situation last year [with Rihanna]. I thought he was holding back and needed to let that emotion out. Him crying at the BET Awards was real, I could feel it.
“I think he cried about a number of things. About the fact that he thought people would hate him forever because of one mistake. Feeling that love on stage was probably overwhelming. Plus MJ being gone and him performing “Man in the Mirror”, that song is powerful, especially for his situation. It pushed him over the edge.”
“To say that he was faking or that I’m hating on him, that’s some bull shit. Last week Essence.com asked me what artist most embodied MJ. I told them it was Chris. I never saw MJ perform live, but he [Chris Brown] is the closest thing I’ve witnessed. Chris is back, and I’m just as excited as his fans are. It’s just frustrating that people want to make everything negative.” Source
Whether Squidworth, er, I mean Lloyd is being genuine or not. He probably should have kept his mouth shut in the first place. You wanna help out your pal Chris, then zip your lip. He can get himself into trouble without any help from you.
Nicki Minaj is getting a lot of flack for engaging in what looks like lip syncing for all of her performances at the 2010 BET Awards this past weekend. But she denies it and blames it on technical difficulties.
She tweeted: “U (sic) could hear me in the auditorium but apparently not in TV land. Shout out to the sound guy.”
She adds, “They say it’ll (be) fixed wen (sic) it re-airs.” Source
Um, I’d buy it if everyone looked like they lip synced…but no, only you Nickster.
Denzel Washington and Viola Davis won big for their performances in Broadway’s ‘Fences. Denzel took home the Best Performance By A Leading Actor in a Play and Viola got the Best Performance By A Leading Actress In A Play at the Tony’s this past weekend. The play itself won for Best Revival. Source
Congrats to these two! I’m just so upset I didn’t get a chance to see either of them in the show.
Kanye West has been missing in action for a minute. But we hear he’s joining the lineup for this year’s BET Awards. He’s promoting his upcoming album ‘Good Ass Job.’
Kanye will be joined bu performers Drake, Nicki Minaj, Dirty Money, Ludacris, Diddy, Trey Songs, Diddy, Rick Ross and T.I.
Prsenters include Mike Epps and Taraji P. Henson. The show will air Sunday, June 27th. Source
I predict some reckless behavior. Combining Kanye with the hood activity that goes down at the BET Awards is a problem.
Howard Stern decided to weigh in on Gabby Sidibe on his Sirius satellite radio show. He said, “There’s the most enormous, fat black chick I’ve ever seen. She is enormous. You feel bad because everyone’s pretending she’s a part of show business and she’s never going to be in another movie. She really should have gotten the Best Actress award because she’s never going to have another shot. What movie is she gonna be in? ‘Blind Side 2?’ She could be the football player, take out the whole front line.
“It’s so sad you want to say to her, listen honey, you got a little money in the bank, go get yourself thin. You’re gonna die. And now she’s famous and she’ll never get another acting job.”
Howard and co-host Robin Quivers said Oprah was lying to her by saying she’s going to have a career in Hollywood. “Come on, be honest with the girl. Look in that room. Who else do you look like? Those are the people that work all the time,” Robin agreed. Source
Hmm, well Howard, yes she’s fat. She’s black. Hell, she may even be ugly. But damnit she’s here! Know who else said that? Whoopi Goldberg in ‘The Color Purple.’ Like Gabby she’s never been the picture perfect example of what a Hollywood actress should look like. But bitch has had an amazing career. And if you even mention ‘Eddie’…
Prior to the Oscars Mo’Nique was met with a lot of criticism for not attending some of the smaller awards shows or doing certain ack at reporters who urged voters to snub Mo at the Oscars.
Explaining the opening of her acceptance speech she said, “Through this journey and process… some reporters wrote, ‘Someone needs to teach Mo’Nique a lesson. Someone needs to tell her how this game is played.’
“I am very proud to be part of an Academy that says, ‘We will not play that game. We will judge her on her performance and not how many dinners she attended and how many pictures she took. It’s on the screen.’ I am proud to hold this Oscar in my hand.” Source
Here’s her acceptance speech below:
That explains a LOT. When I heard her speech I thought she was trying to say, ‘hell yea I deserved this, because I performed better than these bitches!’ I’m glad she explained this because I was about to be mad at her. Carry on Mo. Oh and Congrats!
Mimi was having some serious wardrobe malfunctions at the Film Independent Spirit Awards. The shoes she had on were so high that she couldn’t walk on her own and had to have security prop her up all night.
A source said, “Mariah came out as a presenter but she was having trouble in her heels, which were eight inches high and so spiky, she accidentally stabbed herself in one foot before she was helped onstage.
“She seemed to be the only star hanging onto personal security. Outside the press area she seemed really giddy and was overheard saying jokingly, ‘I don’t know if I can do this!’ And she didn’t arrive and leave through an elevator like the other stars. She had a BMW limo pull right up to the stage.”
Backstage she talked about all her new projects saying, “I have a lot of new acting projects coming up. I am talking to ['Precious' director Lee Daniels] about at least three movies. But there’s also something else very special on the way. I can’t say any more.” Source
Nice way to keep us guessing about you missy. Sidebar, one day those heels are gonna be the death of you.
Katy Perry was on the red carpet Sunday night being interviewed by GMTV, and she cursed on live television.
Russell told the interviewer that his favorite moment of the evening was seeing Dwarfs at the Oscars. And Katy said, “I’ll him on his bulls**t.” Russell looked at her and said, “Don’t swear. It’s morning in England.”
She was seemingly embarrassed and tweeted after the incident, “Hi 2010, teleporting would be a nice invention now.” Source

Director Lee Daniels made a major feaux pas when accepting the Best Film Award at the NAACP honors when he said, “No one in Hollywood told me they wanted to see a movie about a 350-pound black girl who had HIV,” Daniels blurted out during his acceptance speech, before realizing that he’d possibly embarrassed his full-figured star. Trying to cover up his mistake, he stuttered saying, “She’s not 350 pounds. … Gabby… But the book says. … “
Gabby was visibly upset, shaking her head at Lee’s comment. Source
I honestly think it would have been better had he not tried to clean it up, cus that somehow made the whole situation worse. Gabby, don’t pay him any mind. Myself, along with the rest of the Pleasantly Plum Crew, got your back honey.

OK, so of the movies nominated I’ve only seen Precious…lol ergo that’s where my picks go.
Pink was scared she’d “fall on her nude butt” during her Grammys performance.
Speaking after her routine, she said: “When I do it on tour, I don’t have lights above me. There were lights above me, so it almost went into a strobe thing, and I actually did get a little turned around.
“I thought… I was going to fall on my nude butt. But I worked it out.” Source
Yea, I thought the same thing. Not that I want her to hurt herself but maybe that would have mad the Grammys less of a snore fest.

In Other Grammy Winner News…
Beyonce was nominated for 10 Grammys and took home 6. She set a new record for solo wins by a female performer in one night.Source
I found it interesting that she chose last night to acknowledge Jay-Z directly in an acceptance speech. She said, ‘I’d love to thank my family for all their support, including my husband, I love you.
But now that I’m thinking about it, I feel like she felt the need to affirm the fact they were married after he shared the stage with Rihanna and Bey’s nephew Daniel…I’m just saying
In Yet More Grammy Winner News…
Taylor Swift dropped one of her four awards and broke it.
I personally think her award was committing suicide. That’s what I’d do. Source

On to the Show!
Lady GaGa opens the show with a bunch of faceless GaGas. The Real GaGa pops out of stage left with a green bedazzled onesie on. Onto ‘Pokerface” as she dances with some demonized factory workers dancing behind her.
Then the Fame Factory turns her into a monster…she comes back out onstage seated at a double piano with a bunch of creepy hands sticking out of it. What’s awesome about this performance? The fact that Elton John has joined her for the duet.
Colbert opens the show with a little monologue and then presented the award for Song of the Year.
Song of the Year:
“Poker Face,” Lady Gaga and RedOne, songwriters (Lady Gaga)
“Pretty Wings,” Hod David and Musze, songwriters (Maxwell) (Lo’s Pick)

“You Belong With Me,” Liz Rose and Taylor Swift, songwriters (Taylor Swift).
J-Lo is here to present Green Day and the cast of the new Broadway show “American Idiot” to perform “21 Guns). Question: Why is “American Idiot” a Broadway show? Actually, I should have started asking questions like that when Shrek came to Broadway.
The first ten second bored me so I took a break to go potty.
Back from the break, Kristen Bell and Josh Duhemel come on to encourage fans to vote for what song Bon Jovi will perform tonight. Then they present the award for Country Album of the Year.
Country Album:
“The Foundation,” Zac Brown Band
“Twang,” George Strait
“Fearless,” Taylor Swift
“Defying Gravity,” Keith Urban
“Call Me Crazy,” Lee Ann Womack.
Watch your back Taylor, Kanye is lurking in the shadows.
Anyway, Simon Baker comes out to present Beyonce.
She marches on stage with her legion of army men. He starts out with ‘If I Wer a Boy.’ It’s one of the songs she swipped. That’s OK BC Jean, we didn’t forget about you.
Jordan and Brew want to know why the Halo soldiers are there.
Oh dear, she’s singing Alanis Morrisette’s ‘You Ought to Know.” Not to say she can’t sing…I just don’t thing this song is appropriate for her. Christ be with us, she’s winding it up. Which leads us back into ‘If I Were a Boy.”
I’m spent.
Readers are texting in their comments.
JG: I think I am dying. WTF Beyonce?!
DJ: What is wrong wtih Beyonce? It Sucked.
After the break, Seal comes out to introduce Pink’s performance.
She comes out wearing a body condom/sheet/robe and it looks like one of her unitards underneath. On the red carpet she said she was gonna be wet in her performance. Let’s see what she does.
Um, if I were in the audience while she spun around soaking wet sprinkling me with Pink juice I’d be pissed! I’m just saying.
Keith Urban and some country chick come out to present for Best New Artist.
New Artist:
Zac Brown Band
Keri Hilson
MGMT
Silversun Pickups
The Ting Tings. (Lo’s Pick)
Miley Cyrus introduces the Black Eyed Peas performing “I’mma Be” and “I got a Feeling.” They’ve got a robotic/milatery/rhytem nation thang goin on…But I think I like it. Actually, I generally like them. Their music makes my booty bounce. And who doesn’t like that? Sidebar, I need will.i.am’s bedazzled boots.
The Jonas Brothers introduce Lady Antebellum.
Juanez and Cathy Kuloko (Iknow that’s not really her name) introduce best comedy album:

“Use Somebody,” Kings Of Leon (Lo’s Pick)
“Poker Face,” Lady Gaga
“You Belong With Me,” Taylor Swift.
Robert Downy Jr. presents Jamie Foxx performing ‘Blame it On the Alcohol.”
Well it started off as this opera face that I was completely confused by and which made Jordan go running from the room. Wait, is he dressed like a confederate soldier.
What’s happening. And who the hell is the conductor in the white wig. I’m scared. Oh wait, I spoke too soon. It’s T-Pain…I’m now more scared, and right fully so.
He just felt the need to simulate getting an erection for the line “My pants gettin’ bigga.”
Duggie fresh is out, so is Jaime’s older sister, Diondra, who has downs syndrome (I felt the need to add that fact before anyone went in on her), and Slash.
I think I just wet my pants. My pee hole gets week when I’m frightened.
Ke$ha and Justin Bieber are here. Phew! I don’t know what they’re talking about…I’m still freaked out.
Ryan Seacrest introduces Taylor Swift.
Her voice is grating and I find the fact that Stevie is backing her up insulting. I hope Stevie doesn’t go back to the tranqs.
Anyway, here’s Lionel Richie to introduce Smokey Robinson, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Usher and Carrie Underwood singing along with MJ “What About Us?”
Um, something about this is creepy. Maybe if I actually had the 3D glasses to watch it, it would be better.
How old is Smokey Robinson?
Where the hell has Celine Dion been?…I miss her brand of crazy.
Will J-Hud let me borrow whatever gridle helped her slide into that dress?
Is Usher finally back?
When was the last time Carrie had some carbs?
OK, the singing is done and Lionel is back to present the lifetime achievement award to MJ. His children Prince and Paris are there to accept the award in his honor. Prince did pretty good for a while. I somehow thought he’d sound different. I don’t know what kinda Jesus juice Paris was on but she tweeked a bit. Seems like she wanted to say more. But whatevs.
Back from the break Sheryl Crow introduces Bon Jovi singing three songs, one of which viewers voted on. And the winner is?
Sorry my computer lost internet for about five minutes. I’ll update when I figure everything out.

Wyclef introduces Andrea Boccelli and Mary J. Blige singing “Bridge over Troubled Water.”

L.L. Cool J comes out with his old allbeit fione ass to introduce another fione ass, Maxwell, performing “Pretty Wings.”
So after he kills it, Mama Roberta (as in Roberta Flack) joins him to sing her hit “Where is the Love?” I heart this lady.
It’s time for a little memorial to the ones the music industry lost this past year. Then Jeff Bridges introduces Jess Beck Singing the music of the late Les Paul.
Quintin Tarintino comes on to introduce Drake, Eminem and Lil’ Wayne. Let me pause here to say I officially hate QT. Anyway, I love that they’re backed by Travis Barker. I wonder if all the missing audio is because Wayne was being bleeped or just an audio issue. Wait the same thing is happening to Em. I’ll see if I can find out anything from my clearence connections. Oh, Wheelchair Jimmy, thanks for joining us. I’m just gonna need you to back Em, he has no business backing you. I’m having flashbacks of teh Taylor/Stevie performance.
John Legend and Carlos Santana present for Album of the Year.
Album of the Year:
“I Am Sasha Fierce,” Beyonce
“The E.N.D.,” The Black Eyed Peas
“The Fame,” Lady Gaga (Lo’s Pick)
“Big Whiskey And The Groogrux King,” Dave Matthews Band
“Fearless,” Taylor Swift
I meet this decision with a blank stare. I waited three hours for this? My butt is sore because of this? Maybe Lady GaGa can impale her with her giant sword/icicle hat..no? OK, I’m going to bed. Nite kids.
Rihanna wasn’t asked to perform at this year’s Grammys and she things she knows why. She says, “We messed their show up pretty bad last year. They might be a little mad at me.”
She should be at the show regardless. She is nominated for two awards for Run This Town in collaboration with Jay-Z and Kanye West. Source
In Other Grammy News…
Michael Jackson’s kids my be performing at this year’s show. Katherine Jackson, the kids guardian, is supposedly in talks with the organizers about the kids singing one of their late father’s songs.
A source said: “Michael first unveiled his legendary moonwalk at the Grammys, so it’s only right they all go out with a tribute.”
The tribute, is set to include the premiere of the ‘Earth Song’ mini-movie and will feature performances from stars including Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion and Smokey Robinson. Source
I veto this idea. Sorry kids but I can do without. Thanks Meemaw Katie for understanding.
The NAACP has nominated Michael Jackson’s funeral for an Image Award.
The former president of the NAACP’s Beverly Hills Branch, Billie J. Green, has this to say: What the hell is going on over at the NAACP???
Billie J. Green:
Even though entertainers did perform, it was still a memorial service/funeral to honor this young man… The NAACP’s Image Awards were created to honor people who portrayed positive images of African-Americans in the entertainment industry. This show has always been a legitimate awards presentation. Unfortunately, this recent nomination of Michael Jackson’s memorial service/funeral has resulted in the ridicule of the Image Awards as a legitimate awards show. This nomination is an embarrassment to the past and present members of the NAACP and the African-American community as a whole.
As someone who has worked closely with the NAACP to create jobs and positive images in the entertainment industry, I am truly ashamed of this recent nomination. Please see below for some additional information that I have provided for your perusal.
Thank you for your time. I hope that you can do something to correct this situation. Source
Insert blank stare and single tear falling down my face.
Here’s a video of Mimi accepting an award at the Peoples Choice Awards. Her dress is so tight that Nick has to help her all the way to the mic. Hey, at least she isn’t drunk like the last time she accepted an award…well, AS drunk.
In the video above Mimi can be seen accepting her award for Best Supporting Actress at the Palm Springs Film Festival. She can also be seen slurring her words and showing just how twisted she is. I got about 15 seconds in and couldn’t watch anymore because I was embarrassed for her. And from the looks of it, she was sipping on more than champagne. This is the handy work of that brown juice. Evil Jesus I rebuke you!
Singer/songwriter The-Dream had a Kanye moment. He was upset about not getting any solo nods for the Grammy awards so he took to Twitter.
He wrote:
“Isn’t it funny the best album of 2009 didn’t get a nomination for the second year strait,” he wrote in a string of tweets. “And this ain’t no Kanye sh– … and yes I am bitchin.”
“I had to let ‘em know it wasn’t all to the good. I wasn’t just chillin’. The people that follow me, they really care about the movement. Not just me, there’s a lot of great people doing great things all the time and they get looked over. That’s why I put the thing about Kanye. I’m not on no Kanye, but when you bust your ass and you know you bust your ass and you don’t get a look, then you’re looking at people funny.”
“I was not expecting it, but I was expecting it, if that makes sense,” he explained. “It was like, ‘Let’s see if some bullsh– happens again.’ I didn’t get nominated last year for Love Hate. Man, I’m black. I’m paranoid, I already expect bullsh– anyway. When I see the names nominated, I’m saying, ‘Are you saying my name don’t belong with the people in this category?’ Come on, man. Somebody isn’t listening.”
“I almost forgot the Producer Of The Year. To not be in that category is crazy,” Dream added. “Nobody released more titles. It’s not even close. It’s not even close, dude. We’re doing albums over here.”
“And it’s the Grammys, man. You look at it from a kid’s standpoint: When you’re growing up, it means so much. Even if it’s not about record sales, singles, the Grammys always pull out the best sh–. I don’t think that happens now.”
“Everybody is saying I should go out and market for it, but I don’t wanna use that power of the strength of my building to win something. I should be able to get nominated or be able to win based off the strength of music – if we’re talking about the best music. If it’s a popularity contest, let’s just say it’s a popularity contest.” Source
Oh dear. Homie calm down please. I don’t want to see you walk down this road. And for the love of God back away from the keyboard…Twitter will be the downfall of us all.
J-Lo is all bruised up after her fall at the AMAs.
She said: “I have a bruised bone. What happened was one of the dancers’ backs was slippery from sweat and lights and everything. We never bargained for that because they always had T-shirts on in rehearsal.
“So they were bare-backed, didn’t have shirts on for the performance, and when I stepped on their backs my feet got wet. So when I landed, it just slipped from under me.”
“That’s kind of what I felt the rest of the performance, ‘Did I fall?’ It happened so fast. I was up and all I could think was, ‘I have to get to the next beat. I have to do this dance solo right now.’ I had no time to think about it.”
“Then I get to the back, and one of the dancers was like, ‘Are you OK?’ ‘Oh my God that’s right, I fell.’ It was awful, but you know, it happened.” Source
Excuses are the tools of the weak and incompetent.
J-Lo is back peddling to explain her epic fail while performing at the AMAs this weekend. She took a big fall and says that it was part of the routine.
“Did I trip a little bit…? I don’t even remember.” She then joked, “I meant to do that… It was part of the choreography.
“The measure of things is not what happens when you fall, it’s how you handle it when you fall.” Source
Taylor Swift was a big winner at the AMAs this year along with Michael Jackson. Taylor got five awards including Artist of the Year. Michael fell right behind with four awards.
MJ’s bro Jermaine, took the stage to accept his awards. He said, “The message that Michael had will live on forever. He saw good in everyone and he wanted everyone to do good. He always started with love.” Source
I DVR’d the event and have yet to watch it. I’ll post vids in a bit.
Taylor Swift was a huge winner at the Country Music Awards. She took home the much coveted Entertainer of the Year award becoming the youngest artist to get the prize.
Country star, Wynona Judd, decided to weigh in on it saying, “You want my honest comment? It’s too much too soon. Time is God’s way of keeping everything from happening at once. It’s just too much of a good thing too soon. My thing is, being a home-school mom, I want kids to earn it, and I think some time … ‘cause mom and I rode in a car for the first year of our career to visit radio stations. There was a making of the star, there was a rising up, and the fans went with us. Now it’s over coffee breaks, the success, almost. You have to play catch up … It’s like the girl who wins an Oscar and she’s under 20. What do you do from here?” Source
I feel her and I don’t. If Taylor is truly talented, then I think she deserves the award (I’m not personally a fan). But if not, and she’s just getting it cus Kanye beat up on her…or whatever, then give it to a more accomplished artist.
Rihanna won the Woman of the Year award from Glamour magazine the other night for her courage and honesty.
Iman presented the award to her and told the crowd, “This year, we saw a different face of Rihanna. She’s an indelible image of worldly pain and now, more than ever, I am more than impressed with her honesty and courage… She has taken her own scars and used them to create a new story of strength and awareness.”
She dedicated the award to her mom and grandmother saying in her acceptance speech: “I love being a part of a night where we’re celebrating women and such strong women. I really look up to my gran-gran and my mom. They are my two women of the year. I love you very much, granny. I love you very much, mom. They’ve shown me what strong women can accomplish and achieve. Without their unconditional love and guidance, I wouldn’t be here and I hope I can be an example to young girls and women today.” Source
I know she has an album coming up and part of her recent actions have been due to her new album coming out. I wish her the best and I’m proud of her speaking out. BUT, if I find out this is all a sham I will quit her faster than my job at Pathmark. I worked a total of four hours before having the cash register malfunction while trying to do a food stamp transaction. It was one of the most trying moments in my life. Anyway, congrats Rih-Rih.
